Jacksonville Finally has a Lotte Market! We needed one between Atlanta & Orlando. Super gracious Jax can now partake in the hype as well.
I visited Lotte off Atlantic Blvd I think the 3rd or 4th day it was open this past Monday afternoon. Itās a nightmare to turn in and out off on Atlantic. Good news is there is plenty of parking once in the lot, but leaving, youāll have to plan to sit in your car and patiently wait your turn to leave.
When you first walk in to your right, immediately you bump into their lil Korean beauty section, boba tea spot , and their food court. I bought a few face masks to try from the beauty section but did not try a boba tea or food court options given my short time I had there to check everything out. I will go back to try both once the crowds calm down a little. Still Very busy for a Monday afternoon.
The woman helping me in the Korean beauty section was extremely nice and gave me a couple free sample masks to take with me when I paid which was completely unexpected but very much appreciated since most of what I bought was for others.
This market has everything. From fruit to fresh pastries and meat cuts, to imported candy like purple potato Kit Kats, to kitchen utensils and needs, they even had some American items to choose from like cereals you might find in Publix.
Again I was crunched for time on my visit but I did walk around 80% of the market before making my way to the check out counter. The staff were super friendly and helpful, organized, and oddly calm for how chaotic the store was given the crowds. I commend the staff for being so down to earth and chill. Give this store a visit but definitely try and go during the middle of the work week maybe for more of a relaxed overall experience - esp while...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is the Buc-eeās of grocery stores. It literally has everything, including things you didnāt even know you needed. The layout is one of the best Iāve seen for a large scale store. Itās clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The produce section stands out. So much to explore, fresh, fully stocked, and impressive given how many people were shops here.
There is a food court, offering a variety of Asian cuisines. Ordering is simple and modern. You place your order at a kiosk and pick it up when ready. You can also order at the counters with a person. Thereās also a comfortable seating area, to enjoy your food.
Beyond groceries, the store feels like a cultural hub. Thereās a Korean beauty shop, housewares, and aisles filled with international foods, snacks, seafood, produce, meats (including Halal), and specialty items from China, Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, and Hispanic cuisines.
Inside, youāll also find a Tous les Jours, a French-Asian bakery that serves up some of the best baked goods, coffee, lattes, and smoothies. I tried the honey lavender mocha latteā¦so goodā¦along with a few pastries, and every single one was delicious and fresh.
Another highlight is the sushi area, where you can buy everything you need to make your own sushi at home. The ingredients looked fresh and well-stocked, making it a sushi lovers dream home.
The staff are friendly and welcoming, and prices are very reasonable. They also run great deals, and you can sign up for their rewards program online and find exclusive offers and sales ads.
All in all, this store has already become one of my favorites. Itās more than just shopping, itās a full experience and a place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreParking at Lotte Market is very challenging, as there simply isnāt enough space. Just inside the entrance is the food court, but it feels cramped and a bit confusing since each stall is labeled separately as Korean, Hong Kong Chinese, or Japanese. The automatic payment machines are oddly placed near the trash bins, and the entire dining area is uncomfortably tight with far too few tables for the number of customers. You donāt know whether youāll even get a place to sit until after youāve ordered.
The ordering system gives you a receipt with a pickup time, but wait times are longāsomething as simple as a bowl of soup can take 35ā45 minutes. Prices are also on the higher side considering the portions and overall experience. I wasnāt impressed.
The grocery section, however, is well-stocked with a wide variety of items: fresh produce, chicken, beef, pork, fish (both fresh and frozen), duck eggs, dried shrimp, and more. Prices across the store also lean high, but it does carry specialty items that can be hard to find elsewhere. The biggest strengths are the large selection of vegetables and the fresh fish department.
That said, the store feels overcrowded and understaffed. Aisles are packed, making it difficult to shop comfortably, and the bakery section leaves room for improvement. Customer service is minimalāthe atmosphere is more cold and impersonal than welcoming. The only bright spot during my visit was a very kind employee at the coffee counter.
Overall, Lotte Market offers an impressive range of products, but the shopping and dining experience could be...
