Love, love, LOVED our experience here!! I have not been on a bike since 2000, and I felt like a very long in the tooth kid riding it!😀 We were in Jamestown for a day’s exploit from Newport ( but visiting from NYC), and I knew we would need bikes to get to Beavertail State Park because it’d take too long walking. My husband and I don’t drive; we rely on trains and buses, and our feet to get places as much as possible so that we soak up nature and our surroundings as best we can. I can’t recommend this business enough! Friendly, professional, kind, accommodating. Everything you want, really, from an interaction. The warmth is genuine, the desire to help a customer is real and unforced. Seeing this beautiful part of Rhode Island from a bike saddle felt different than walking somehow. Jamestown Outdoors was a highlight of our vacation. We rented 3 kayaks at a very reasonable price for 2 hours. We booked online the same day but arrived earlier than expected. I spoke with the owners when we arrived and they were able to get us going earlier than we had booked. Beth was so nice and really helpful. Overall this was a great experience; the Jamestown harbor offers great views of the Newport Bridge and the suggested route was perfect. From a local Rhode Islander, this has been something I have been wanting to do for quite a while but never got around to until this last weekend. We booked on a whim at 12:30 for a 3 pm tandem rental and it did not disappoint. Parking was beyond easy which I was not expecting given the area. The owners were so friendly - they offered lots of tips, a great suggested route, and were overall just very friendly. You could tell they were passionate about what they do.
