Slice of Heaven was so good, my family and I went twice during our two-day stay in Jamestown! While the food was delicious and just what you would expect from a cozy bayside diner (that is to say, comfort food), it was the service which really set them apart. Both times we went, the staff were friendly, accommodating, and looked like they genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. In my book, that says a lot about the type of business you are dealing with and makes the experience that much better. As far as food goes, out of seven people in our party trying a different dish each day I think we ended up testing at least half of the menu and loved everything. A couple highlights were the fish and chips (get the sweet potato ones!), the Grand Marnier French toast, and the veggie wrap. Also, if you are into that kind of thing, they compost, so you know you are supporting a business that cares about sustainability. And even if that isn't a big deal to you, just knowing that thought is going into their business practices says a lot about their commitment to quality. So give them a visit and enjoy!

Great local breakfast spot with an extensive menu. Stopped by this place for breakfast on our way to Newport. The place looked like a combination of a cozy pastry shop and a classic diner, and their laid-back patio was the perfect place to chill with our pup. We ordered a fruit tart, an omelette, and a fish sandwich, and everything exceeded our expectations. For the omelette, we got the Pomelet Omelette, which featured all the classic diner toppings: onions, ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and cheddar. The hash browns made it particularly satisfying and added a nice textural contrast. The Fish Naanwich was a simple fried fish sandwich served on grilled naan in lieu of a traditional bun. The naan was thick but surprisingly soft, pairing nicely with the fried fish. The only miss was the lack of aioli sauce, which left the sandwich a bit bland. Would definitely make a point to stop by if I’m ever in Jamestown again.

This place is very crowded in the mornings. This is probably because there are only so many places to go in Jamestown. What was nice was that they have a water station for people to use while they're waiting in line. Once you put your order in, they'll give you a number, and you can bring your number to your table to sit and wait. Despite how busy it was, it wasn't hard to find a table. They did forget my order, and they had my plate out when my friends were about halfway through their meals, but they were apologetic about it. They do have a vegan breakfast option, I got oatmeal and they gave me a side of almond milk to put in it.

My family and I finally got around to trying this place out!!! Upon entering we were a little confused on whether we seat ourselves or wait to be seated - there's nobody walking around waiting tables just a counter. So we stood in line to ask but were surprised to be handed a menu and expected to order right there- not a fan of that especially when they giving you that hurry up there's a line stare we really almost forgot to order drinks - the pressure to order like you at a McDonald's drive thru- . We received our drinks then were given a table number and brought it with us to our table - ridiculous when you're trying to juggle hot coffee and drinks for the kids. Our food came out quickly and the food was great the California omelet was the best omelet I have had in a while. My kids hated their pancakes they were a different texture little more chewy almost like a fried dough. The French toast was good too although I didn't really taste the gran mariner not even subtle notes. The orange juice seemed freshly squeezed but my husband didn't like it was room temp like some ice cubes would have been nice. The kicker is we had to clear our own table too and if you want to wash your hands afterwards you will have to wait in a line 5 people deep. Like what's the tip for??? I cleared my own table nobody walks around doing coffee refills I had to bring my own drinks to the dang table the only thing they didn't ask was for us to load the dishwasher! If I was going to come back it would probably be for a coffee and a breakfast pastry to go. I wouldn't come back for a sit down breakfast the process in place only benefits the staff not the customers, when I dine out I don't want to have to clear my tables and juggle my drinks that's why I was choosing to dine at a restaurant in the...

I am so excited that a patron was finishing up her kale salad as we walked into our favorite Jamestown breakfast spot early Saturday morning for our 9th anniversary weekend visit.

I ordered the kale salad with the lemon vinegarette and my husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant, with his lemon muffin and cinamon roll (life is not fair).

But my kale salad, with its goodies like cranberries, lentils, almonds, was so absolutely delicious I didn't care about not eating pastries (well, I had a corner of his).

On my second breakfast, Sunday, I had the Danish omelet with smoked salmon and it was also wonderful. Hubby had fish and chips--and though he liked it, reiterated to himself--I do not like friend food, especially for breakfast.

Third day, I went back to my kale, and asked what oil was in the dressing--found out not Canola, but there was some soy oil, and they happily served me olive oil and lemon wedges on the side to dress my salad with healthful oil. Hubby had his sandwich and a carrot cake this time.

Their coffee seems to have diminished in quality, but they do offer free refills. We tanked up at Bay Voyage Inn, who evidently read my last year's review of their coffee and reformed with...

I recently moved to Washington state after living in Jamestown for 24 years. I've seen this site go through several different owners and the current duo is the best yet. The two guys running the place now are culinary artists, unlike prior owners that just wanted to try their hand at the restaurant business with no formal training nor experience. That knowledge and skill shines through in everything on the menu. I came back to visit with old neighbors on 14-July and the food is still fantastic. You order at the counter and the main dishes are on placards over the counter (deserts are on the counter or in the chiller). Pick a table in the sunny interior or on the patio with a view of Narragansett Ave a and they bring your food to you. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait, given a sunny summer Sunday just after noon. I had the Gran Marnier French Toast which was superb with real maple syrup, whipped butter, and a fresh strawberry. I've enjoyed the California Turkey Wrap and the Breakfast Burrito in the past as well. If you're in Jamestown or nearby it's well with your time to stop by for...
