Standards Jamestown — Restaurant in Jamestown

We visited recently for dinner. There was some confusion about tables, as we were on the wait list for one, but another couple sat themselves without seeing the host. That worked itself out, so no big deal. There was also some confusion by the staff about clearing our table from the previous guests, which took a while. This is where one of the staff really stood out - Emma was super. She recognized what happened and took care of things.

We ordered some drinks, which took way too long for a draft beer and simple cocktail. Our appetizer was foccacia bites, which were pretty good. The olive oil 'dip' that came with it had no flavor though. I got the steak frites and she got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both were very good.

Other than some miscues with the service and a slow bar, we enjoyed our dinner very much and would definitely come back for another visit.

What did we love? A cozy atmosphere, delicious and well prepared food, and creative cocktails!

Specifically: Burger was by far the most memorable for the table - it arrived stacked high and sandwiched between a perfectly risen bun! The fig and goat cheese pizza - Hello delicious! Two our our diners had the fish and it looked amazing, they really enjoyed it.

We loved a special tequila cocktail, and the bees knees!

What was extra special was the attentive waiter! Though it didn’t seem the kitchen prepares the wait staff with tastings of the menu items; our waiter did everything he could to make our meal time special, hassle free and memorable!

Standards is a new restaurant in Jamestown and I was so excited to try it during my visit there. We stayed down the street and ended up there 3 times. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and it was so well decorated and cozy. The interior designer did a fabulous job. Our first night we needed a quick pizza and apps after a long day in Newport and it was all amazing. The next few nights we ordered more off of the menu and it was all great. Their lobster bisque is a must try. My mom and step dad agreed it was the best they have ever had and the presentation was fantastic with a lobster tail served on top. The kids menu wasn't listed...
