1 Ferry Wharf — Restaurant in Jamestown

For me to feel compelled to write a bad review for a restaurant takes a lot of affliction. I’ve never had such a terrible experience at a local establishment. Long winded reviews are a hit or miss, but now I understand why - so is this place.

We had called to make a reservation for 7:30 for the 4th of July .

We were very excited to have an enjoyable evening and try this place out. Oh, how I wish I could take that back. We walked In and immediately two other parties were waiting by the door. An employee eventually asked if we had a reservation, we confirmed. They told us they were running 25+ minutes behind. Not very friendly.Meanwhile, there’s plenty of outdoor seating visibly open, and a huge table that was a mess to yet be cleared.

Eventually we were seated. The server was friendly at least, as I could tell they were doing their best with the chaos happening around them, still somehow smiling.

However, that’s not enough - immediately the timing durations were significantly long between tasks. We put in a drink order, it took awhile to receive them, and they didn’t come out together, not even close. They were also extremely low and very sparse to where we were wondering where the rest of the drink was.

After another long break, we finally get acknowledged again and place our food order. The two other parties who were seated at the same time as us got our food over one hour, at least, before us. The sun set, everyone’s finishing their food, it’s getting chilly, and we are starving and waiting.

Eventually we were told it would be out shortly - three different times. We were trying to roll with the punches and be patient but the service was not great. I mostly felt bad for the server, but we were also pretty neglected.

We FINALLY get our food. The server tells us because the wait was so extensive that they’re comping the meals off our bill. We were pleasantly surprised, and brushed it off… but just wanted to eat. We got fish and chips and a chicken sandwich. The fish and chips were steaming hot, meanwhile the chicken sandwich was cold and hard, as if it had been sitting out for too long. So were the fries.

It was almost laughable at this point because it just kept getting worse to where it wasn’t surprising, just disappointing. We didn’t even eat the sandwich because it was inedible and left hungry! It was a complete waste of time and money.

A side note: the kitchen appears to be open and it’s heavily disorganized to where it makes me question their food safety and organizational guidelines.

My food was cold, and that’s concerning. The quality isn’t there, the service isn’t there, nothing about this place is worthwhile at all and they really have some improvements to make.

It’s disheartening to write such a review, but the experience was terrible. My partner and I laughed it off, but really, we could’ve had a great night, but this place did not serve at all. It’s unfortunate. Definitely one we...

09/29/2024, We ordered take out. I ordered whole bellied clam plate, $28.00. I wish there was a way to post the picture of this order. The clams were not bellies. It was the scraps from all the other fried clams in the fryolator. Unfit to be eaten!! When we called, the server was very pleasant. I was offered something else, but I refused. Bad taste from that order!! I returned the next day and showed the cook my order. I spoke with the mgr regarding a refund. It takes 3 5 days. No problem, my friend will be watching for her credit. UPDATE: 10/6/2024 There has been no credit to my friend's account. I have tried to call multiple times today after 4pm. The website says opened till 9pm. UPDATE: 10/9/2024 There still has been no refund issued. You stated, feel free to reach out if I had any concerns. There is nobody to answer the phone. This is the description of poor guest services. I filled out an online contact/concern form which has my contact information. I will be sure that our annual visiting guests never dine or recommend your restaurant. Have a pleasant season off. Absolutely the worst service! We drove to beautiful Jamestown for a relaxing dinner outside on a gorgeous summer night. We chose this restaurant because it had reservations available on open table. Now I know why they had available seats on a Saturday night! We arrived and were seated on the deck, which was very nice. That was the only thing that was nice though. We sat there for at least a half hour before someone actually greeted us with waters. So, we decided to order then because who knows when someone would come back and take our order. We ordered a couple of drinks and another 25 minutes goes by and nothing! At that this point our night was ruined so we got up and left and none of the staff seemed to cared.
