Up until this last performance(cabaret) I will say it was a 5 star production. This last production was over the top with inappropriate acting... I understand the basis of the show was set in a time and place where things were inappropriate but the underlying story still could have been conveyed with using more subtle acting/costumes. We are season ticket holders and it has made me question if I want season tickets next year. I don't hold the actors responsible for this, they did what they were told i'm sure. The director and organisation need to evaluate the appropriateness of shows and if they can be done without crossing appropriate lines. I was very disappointed...
Read moreWe bought four tickets for April 17, 2021 show FREAKY FRIDAY. We specially requested for VEGETARIAN food. Show was a musical comedy & reasonably good, but the vegetarian food option was TERRIBLE.
In old theater space was limited but we enjoyed the shows because the chef used to offer us special Italian Lasania, Potato soufle or some kind of Indian curry. I wish the management could bring old chef & his catering back. He always had creative ideas of vege menu.

Read moreExcellent productions with local talent! I've seen several shows at this venue (Cap City Prods) and I've seen more than a dozen shows at the Fox in STL. The productions at Cap City Prods are not as 'professional' as the Fox because Cap City Prods simply doesn't have the fancy lighting and big orchestra. But at Cap City you sit close and see and hear every detail. And sometimes the same play is BETTER at Cap City Prods.
