ALDI — Local services in Jefferson Township

I used to have a great impression of this store in but all that changed since yesterday. I went to the restroom before shopping, suddenly an ugly and disheveled black shorty security guard who was only 5'3" at most,crazily knocking and kicking the door, making a terrifying noise and shouting at me "what are you doing" and ordered me to get out quickly! I was surprised, but more angrily, questioning him: Of course I am using the restroom, do you ever have a time limit here? But he continued to curse wildly! After going out, I originally wanted to forget it, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I became, so I turned back to complain to the manager. I have never been treated like this before. I am not a shoplifter, nor had I brought a big bag. It was unreasonable and absurd,ridiculous and unacceptable!What he did must be out of racial discrimination against Asians, otherwise it could't be explained! I asked his name, but he refused to give. Thanks to Manager Judy, a very polite girl. She apologized and immediately called him to her front. As I had other things to do, I left and didn't know the result. He is not qualified for this position in terms of his height,strength,and bad manners. This is a much larger Aldi than I'm used to. It's pretty neat and organized, as far as Aldi's go. The thing that tipped the scales here from 3 to 4 stars is the fact that they have beer and wine at this particular location.

The exact products they have vary somewhat with each visit, but you can expect really great prices and incredibly fast check-out.

If you are worried that Aldi sells sub-par products, or some other negative trait: don't. Every Aldi store that I have been too has been great, and busy. They might be a little short on customer service, as the employees are usually just flying around rapidly filling shelves and coolers, or manning the registers, but really the store is easy to navigate and I've never had a bad experience with any of the products that I've purchased. Fruit and veggies are fresh and of good quality. The only thing is that the store is very no-frills: no fancy displays, for the most part no big-name brands, etc. Again, don't take that to be a negative thing.

Aldi is great, this Aldi is extra great. They just re-did layout & looks nice. Most importantly the people there are just nice people. Don't mistake kindness for weakness! I've seen their security take off at running back speed and return successfully with a stolen item, still smiling and friendly toward paying customers (and honestly pretty cordial to the thief all things considered), but folks here are definitely not pushovers. Aldi helps keep prices down by doing things differently than other supermarkets; that may mean you see fewer customer-focused staff. This doesn't mean they won't help you if you need it, nor does it mean the store isn't being watched. It's just a different model, so please treat the staff there kindly, don't steal, and don't be afraid to ask a question if you are confused on how to do things the Aldi way (or if you forgot your quarter for the shopping cart - the quarter unlocks the cart and pops back out for you when you return the cart properly & if you are nice the cashier will probably lend a quarter to...
