Joseph's Finest Meats — Local services in Jefferson Township

After flagging Joseph's on my maps for "want to go" for years, I finally happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped in. All I have to say is that I hope more millennial and gen z future business owners go to Joseph's and can experience what customer service should be like and regain what has been lost with some of the owners from prior generation. The hype is real with Sal. He truly appreciates your business and in a day and age where bars are counting ounces of liquor because of dumb shows like bar rescue and delis are transactional, this is not that. Sal walked me through the deli, where meat & veggies were sourced, farm conditions, recommendations, etc. Word of mouth will take you further than counting ounces and meat quotas. This is a hidden gem in Chicago! A coworker who lives in Albany Park as well as my sister referred me to this butcher. Since I just moved to Portage Park, I went to pick up a couple of steaks for Valentine’s Day and was helped by Ben, the owner. Seeing I was a first-timer, the owner gave me a full tour of the shop, showing me all the different cuts and types of meat and seafood available. He was very friendly and hooked me up with beautiful USDA prime boneless ribeye steaks. It’s refreshing to see an owner who really cares about what he sells and isn’t just in it to turn a profit! For the high quality of meat offered, the prices were very fair, especially for USDA prime. I can’t wait to try other items, like branzino, Barese sausage and scallops. I will definitely be back here, especially for grilling season!...

So lucky to live relatively close to this place, I initially came across Josephs Finest Meats by calling local butchers looking for Turkey Liver in Chicago for my Dog. I follow the DIY Just Foods for Dogs Turkey Macaroni diet. They are one of the only places in Chicago where you can find Turkey liver. I would suggest calling and speaking with Ben first before making the drive, if he has enough people requesting Turkey liver he can order it more frequently. I also buy my ground Turkey from them and the quality much better then what you would find at local stores. I instantly notice the difference with the meat when cooking it.
