My son takes music lessons at Maxwells and he is in Rock School there. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff is awesome. Mark Maxwell is a really nice guy and always comes over to talk to us when we are there. Bobby Naelitz manages Rock School and he was able to set my son up in a band of wonderful talented kids within weeks. He's at all of the rock school lessons and helps out with his music talent as far as coaching or filling in on the drums or whatever is needed. He has even set up a show for the kids already. He is truly amazing and a super nice guy. The Rock School coach, Kirk, is very patient and has the amazing ability to hear exactly what each part of a song sounds like from each instrument played and each part of a song that is sung. He is truly talented. Cliffy, Arron and Mike not only have excellent customer service skills, but they, like everyone else there make us feel at home every time we are in the store. Rick Eiseman, my son's guitar teacher, is super knowledgeable about music, my son is learning so much from him! There are other teachers there that I don't know the names of, but I have seen them interacting with the students, they are always encouraging and inspiring. And the store....all I can say is amazing....from the records on the ceiling to the record album covers on floor to the rooms that they have set up that look like different places you would play music...like a coffee shop or a garage for a garage band, etc. it's awesome, and if you haven't seen the outside of the store lately, you have to see it now. It is truly amazing. Oh! I don't want to forget, they have an auditorium-style stage with lights so the band that is practicing can get the feel of being on stage. They also have a recording studio and practice rooms for bands to rehearse in. Maxwells is awesome, not only because the store and each person there is cool, but together, they help anyone who wants to follow their dreams in being a musician accomplish that goal. Music is so important to the world and therefore anyone or any place that helps to provide the world the joy of music like Maxwells does is invaluable. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn to play music or if your kids want to learn to play an instrument....
Read moreI love supporting small businesses and locally, including my family being avid fans of the Crashers. Never visiting this place or supporting their concerts again. Seeing the upsetting, dissatisfied look on my daughter's face followed by tears when she opened her trumpet case and saw the tarnish and scratches around the edge of the bell that were not there before dropping it off. She takes good care of her trumpet. The 2nd valve got a dent in it when it was being handled by another student from marching band so i took it here to get it fixed since this is where i purchased it. Trumpet looked brand new. I guess it was taken care of or had recently been recoated. It had no tarnish...they polished it without asking or stating that would be part of the repair process.... But anyway I called to make them aware and see if there was any way it could be fixed....then i was treated like a liar when I consulting the issue. My perception has been changed forever. Yes, I made a statement that I realize was a mistake and willing to admit that on here since I was briefly disregarded and couldn't explain that over the phone. Took 3 weeks to get a call that it was fixed (that call apparently was from a random unknown number so I didn't answer). I call on the 4th week to find that it had been ready for a week but it was my fault because my voicemail was full even though they did not call from the store number. There was only 1 call made to let me know even though a week had passed since then. Extremely let down and upset by this experience, especially because my family loves the band so much and the disappointment on my daughters face. We enjoyed attending concerts and purchasing merchandise but...
Read moreI went in there with my brother for the first time, the place was pretty awsome on the outside and on the inside but most definitely on the inside.
Store owners/employees seemed friendly and knew what they were talking about, the instruments were all really nice as well as the way they organized the place.
I talked to some of the people there and they said that they have a website and that they actually sell more on there website but as of me writing this review i have not looked at there website so take that as you will.
Most of the other customers also seem very friendly aswell, me and my brother were just talking to some other guys about music for the majority of our time there.
Other things I learned include they rent out there instuments for (in my opinion) pretty cheap prices considering the high quality instruments they have. They also perform concerts there which is also a plus.
All in all its a pretty great place I highly recommend you visit wether you know anything about music and instruments or not or if your looking to play something and have a chill spot but dont want to...
