A chain of restaurants (45 plus locations around the US) that specializes in Biriyani (Indian pilaf style rice slow cooked with meats for hours in a tightly sealed pot). This place has about a dozen or so different varieties of biryanis including vegetarian options. I have had biryanis from various parts of India throughout my life. The best one that always stands out for me was one that I ate at a place in Southern India (Kerala to be exact) called Rangoli. It was a delectable and sublime preparation indeed. Even though it is my subjective opinion, all other biryanis prior to that experience and subsequent to it is graded and benchmarked to theirs. Nevertheless, this one I ate here was a Tandoori chicken variety biryani. It was not as moist and spread with ghee (clarified butter) as I would have liked. Also, it was too spicy for me. When I posed the spice factor to the waiter, he said that this was actually the medium spicy version and there was an even spicier option to this one as well. I wish they had given me an option of the spice level factor at the time of placing the order. Service was better than expected and staff was attentive. Decor was confusing. Although these were independent franchises, there should have been a uniformed, consistent, modern and simple decor theme in all of its location. It was too much of an old and modern mismatch and mashup. I may pay them another visit in the future to try other varieties of the biryani and other items.

I ordered food from Bawarchi Biryani Corner yesterday around 7:45 pm and my food reached 9:56 pm. The restaurant is 10 mins away from my place. It should have arrived 8:45 pm the latest according to Grubhub. I called them multiple times and they kept lying about the status of my order. First when I called around 8:51 pm they told me it will take 20 mins. After 30 mins I called they tell me the person left 30 mins ago with the food and they probably make multiple stops before they come to yours thats why it is takes longer. Then they told me that they don’t have control over grubhub tracking. I messaged grubhub to track the food and they told me that the restaurant provides theirs own grubhub drivers so grubhub cannot track. Then I get a text at 9:37 pm from another provider which I didn’t sign up for and that my food is heading over and to track my food delivery click the link. The guy who delivered the food tells me he only got the food 20 mins ago. This was my first time ordering from here and the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life. I ordered Chilli Paneer, Briyani and Chole Bhatura. The food seemed to be not cooked all the way. Paneer was very hard. Please don’t tell me you were very busy. I could careless. If that is the case you shouldn’t have delivery!!! I wouldn’t recommend this place ever. This is ridiculous and a shame!!! Worst service ever.

FIRSTLY, THE MENU NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. IT IS SO STICKY AND DIRTY. PRICE OF FOOD IS BEFORE COVID. THEY NEED TO UPDATE PRICE ON THE MENU,ONLINE EVERYWHERE. Hope the restaurant owner sees this. Something was very suspicious about this place. It had good review hence wanted to try. Dining was open but there was no one in the restaurant(almost spent time around 90 minutes), all the people in the photo, video are delivery drivers waiting from 30 minutes and it was all smoky as you can see in the photo. There was only one server doing everything, online and dining. The place is not kept clean, the kitchen is very dark and dirty. The washrooms ughhh don't even think of using it, is stinking, sticky, washbasin is dirty. The restaurant did not look like a restaurant. It looked as if we were sitting at a funeral food function. They do not have anything, asked onions for the sides, they did not have, they have no raita(very watery) paneer was made like 3-4 days back and was so hard. Took 40 minutes to prepare one PANEER BIRIYANI. The lights were so bad, they are RUNNING THE RESTAURANT ON A LOOSE END. Very selfish restaurant, needs to hire more people for work. The FOOD DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO CHECK ALL CRITERIAS AND LET THE RESTAURANT OPEN AGAIN.

Very bad experience with an order with Bawarchi on a Party night. Absolute false promises and cheating customers. I've placed my order at 7.48 PM and is delivered after 4 hours when is food is cold after persistent follow ups of 34 Calls during the 4 hours, in which my calls were answered for 10 times.

They could have done two things differently if they had a a matured business owner and if they care to be courteous to customers (forget about good customer experience that's a far thing) When I called to confirm the order, they could have been realistic and told delivery would be late and picking up would be good option. They could have told me to cancel the order if my preference is to have it delivered.

By far after several calls, I had to take Driver's Number at 10.00 PM, by which time I was told the order is out for delivery on the vehicle while the restaurant is only 5 miles and it doesn't take more than 15 mins to deliver. After a while and persistent calls to the driver I got a link to track and which showed me that driver has been delivering other orders and have been traveling from the restaurant to other places, and at around 11.30 I had to tell the driver that I figured he might be delivering another order in same city and i would expect him to atleast deliver by then and it's already 4 hours. Driver delivers then in 5 mins. During one of my calls to the restaurant I could hear attendants giggling over while Same false promise again is being made of delivering in 15 more mins, and I could realize it's a common practice for them to fool customers.

Food is already cold by then, Paneer is worth using as a material for Tyres, pretty bad. Biryani is not cooked properly. Party is spoilt. Thank you Bawarchi, lesson learnt will pass on my feed back with word of mouth to every friend I know...

Sharing my experience from ordering take out at Bawarchi Biryani corner in Jersey City - during quarantine. I ordered for appetizers Chicken 555, Karampodi Chicken and Babycorn manchurian and for main course two chicken biryanis (boneless and traditional) and vegetable biryani. Chicken 555: creamy sauce with jalapeños and cashews - very flavorful and the jalapeños make it a touch spicy. Highly recommended dish. Kaarampodi chicken: this a newer dish on the menu - they add chillipowder grounded with other spices to fried boneless chicken.. so good. Babycorn manchurian: I have had this dish at other restaurants, what makes it special here is they fry the green pepper and onion along with the babycorn before mixing it in their sauce. This adds a clear difference to its taste and makes it more enjoyable. Coming to the favorite part of dinner: BIRYANI. 3 different biryanis and I had requested for medium spicy on all them. Typical Hyderabad biryani - can see the colored layers and the smell of the herbs were distinct and unbelievable. The rice was cooked to point and the meat was tasty also.. The biryanis comes with egg and fried onion and in a small foil raw onions and lemon. They also come with salan and raitha.. special mention their salan adds excess flavor to the biryani (not every restaurant makes it this way). Their menu also includes South Indian Dosa varieties and also clay oven dishes. The staff are friendly and my order was ready in less than 30 minutes. They give a good portion on every order. Giving them a 5 star rating for all round service. Will be back to explore the rest of the menu. Thank...
