After shopping in this store exclusively for years because of the convenience of it being on the drive home from work, Covid hit and I have worked from home since then. It is a 10 mile ride or so from home which made it less convenient. When down that way, I continued to make it a point to stop by but then things started to change. For some of the more popular bourbons you have to know someone for them to get some of it off the second floor. Then they changed some personnel around and you could ask on associate for the product and you would get a response that they didn't have any. Ask another associate and you would learn that they had some. I was told they weren't getting allotments in and then on the next visit I was told there was a class shortage. I was getting more excuses than product. Not the way I prefer to do business but I continued to stop by when down that way. Recently I was told they were expecting a select barrel by the GM in late December. I went back two weeks ago and was told that the allotments were pushed in late January. I asked them to call me when it came it and the GM told me he would. Turned out to be lip service. I went in again today and was told the shipment came in and was gone in hours. I asked why I wasn't called. The same GM that committed to calling said he didn't have my number, yet a couple of months ago the store called me to let me know I had left my credit card on the counter. Betray my trust and you...
Read moreI’m a fairly new customer. The past 2 months I purchased some higher end spirits and wine. $100 plus dollar bottle of Noble Gold Russian Vodka, $100 bottle of El Dorado rum, $65 bottle of white wine, $60 bottle of 4 Roses, $145 bottle of Don Julio 42 tequila, as well as many other regular $20-$40 bottles.
The Don Julio 42 they are charging $145 for I found at a couple other places on the area in the $130 range. I go back to buy a second bottle and kindly ask if they can match the local competitors. It’s like $10 bucks off. They keep me waiting for 20 minutes then come back and said no and acted quite annoyed I’d even ask. The owner said he can’t adjust the price in the computer (not true) and the GM says he’d be taking money out of the owners pocket if he reduced it $10.
So basically I can spend $600-700 in 2 months and they are losing a buyer over $10. It’s companies like this I don’t get. They can’t see the forest for the trees. They lose sight of even the most basic of customer service skills. They act like they are doing you a favor to even ring you up.
I’m happy to go back to Total Wine or Jax like I have been going to for years. I was trying to support a local place near me but I’m not paying their...
Read moreMy favorite liquor store in the entire greater ATL area. They carry hard-to-find favorites and if they don't, they'll try to get it for you. They just finished an expansion - pretty much doubling their size. They have bins up front, full of those tiny bottles in case you want to carry one around and pretend you're a giant. Or, better yet, randomly hide a tiny bottle in your friend's car or house for a future "Oh, goody gumdrops!" moment. Their prices are the best around. For example - one of my favorite hard ciders is Stella Artoise, and they have 12-packs for $15. The folks who work here are pretty nice guys. I love joshing around with them. And they're very helpful - I'm disabled and they happily carry my goodies to the car. Which reminds me... the handicapped parking here is right in front of the entrance, not off in Outer Mongolia like some places. To sum up: whether you're preparing for a dinner party, restocking your man cave, grabbing an assortment for a Netflix and "chill" party, needing a bottle of anything for a sad night alone crying on the couch to a bad 80's RomCom, or just preparing for a night of debauchery - this is the place!
TL;DR This liquor store is practically perfect in...
