Game Pawn - Video Games — Local services in Kalamazoo

It’s rare that a game resale (or really any kind of “pawn” situation that would handle so much physical media) is going to open anywhere, and am I over the moon glad it happened in Kalamazoo.

Game Pawn is in a great location with a wide selection of consoles, games, collectibles, tcg packs, swag, and even a small vinyl selection. The store is bright, clean, well organized, and staffed by some genuinely nice people who struck me as just plan happy to be there.

The selection here is excellent. Special edition consoles you’d never find affordably on line in clean working condition; games in original cases with manuals, cleaned and looking like new; they’ve got stuff you’ve probably never heard of before in here man, it’s impressive.

My only complaint is that their TCG section is almost entirely dominated by Pokémon at the moment. I get that it’s probably just a matter of picking a niche and making a strong offering to that fandom, but I would’ve liked to see more MTG options other than final fantasy booster packs.

I ended up buying a PS3 Slim and a copy of FNV: Ultimate, which both work (almost) perfectly; The system might have a hard drive/disk drive read/write problem but I’m still trouble shooting and frankly don’t blame them if it does. These consoles are 17 years old they’re bound to go eventually. If that happens quickly, they’ve got a solid return policy and I feel confident tha I’ll be taken care of.

Incredible store! This place has every game system since the NES! Great selection of games that goes all the back to the 1980s! Tons of great swag and memorabilia!
