Went there for a rare grocery run and found that one of the stocker employees had a mask only covering his mouth, his nose exposed. I noticed it as the employee was helping an elderly man, who was wearing a mask, load his groceries. Great to see the elderly receive help with loading his car, but terrible to see a member of the most at-risk population being potentially exposed to Covid-19.
I gave the employee the benefit of the doubt, hoping his mask had simply come down while working and that he'd fix it. A few minutes later, I see the same employee, working in the aisles, his mask not covering his nose. I said, "Hey, man, your mask slipped off your nose." I still wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He replied sarcastically, "Yeah, it's cause of my big nose." and then walks away without fixing his mask. It was obvious his negligence was intentional. Making this situation even worse was that there were elderly employees at this location, as well as the elderly customers. While the young stocker employeewemployee probably live if he caught Covid-19, the elderly folks he's around everyday verywvery might not. Worst of all, a manager was there for the entire interaction and did nothing to remedy the situation.
The employees at this Gordon Food Service might not believe in science, but Covid-19 doesn't care about...
Read moreI love Gordons food service. I been shopping there 12+ years, so if you got a family of 4 or more go to Gordon's. It's also a great place to shop for those pot- luck lunch or dinners at work. They have friendly workers at the Kalamazoo location on west main st. Buying in bulk works best for me. However, I wouldn't buy anything down the picnic aisle if your shopping on a budget. That aisle is way to pricey for me. I bought a bunch of candy cause I'm gifting a friend of mine a candy tree . She said my candy trees need to be in a store. I'm thinking about it, but I'm sure everyone who does the grocery shopping noticed prices on everything got jacked up. The only thing that bothers me is everytime I go in a store including Gordons they all ask the same thing, would you like a receipt? I guess they don't utilize any of those company perks being offered by submitting a picture of your receipt. If I see a receipt in the cart left behind, I'll take that one too. I'm not turning down free money. Turning down free money is the same as wasting it. I always seem to find a few receipts alongside Gordon's property. Would I recommend this place? Absolutley. I don't see any other stores in Battle Creek or Kalamazoo that carry 7-up cakes anymore really. That's my man's #1 fav cake. I bought two...
Read moreI have been an avid customer for 40 years and some how on my last shopping trip a 4.99 package of mixed choc/vanilla pudding cups didn't make it to my car. I specifically checked my cart because I was frustrated with the slush that was still on the sidewalk that I had to push the cart through to return it. After a few hours of shopping various places when I was unpacking I realized that I had been charged on the receipt but it didn't make it home with me. I immediately called the store and very nicely explained what I figured had happened. I asked if they could check around and find out if one had been put aside. The person said nothing was by the cash registers (did not leave the phone btw to even look) and how did they know that I wasn't making it up when I asked if they could rectify the situation. He basically accused me (a business member) whose bought hundreds of dollars over 40 years of lying. If I'm going to lie to get a free product, it's sure not going to be a 4.99 PKG of puddings. I asked for a manager and found out I was speaking to him. Yes, it probably wouldn't be even worth my time or gas to go and retrieve the puddings, but it's a question of good customer service business for a regular customer that will now spread the word of how they...
