This was my third time coming here and I have always loved the food and quick service but this last time I went for lunch I was absolutely shocked by the customer service. We (clearly) ordered 4 hot dogs, two small drinks and a small fry. After we had paid we went down the line and I told the young man ( Lance) what I wanted to drink and he was confused by this because evidently he didn't ring up two drinks only one. So we went to the back of the line and paid seperately for the drinks...which was fine at that point, minor mistake I thought. But we go down the line, get our drinks (two) and soon get our hot dogs. Noticing that there was a bit of a line forming we go ahead and sit down and wait for the fries but it amazes us because we never hear our order of a small fry get called. My father goes up to make them aware that we are waiting for fries and they tell us they didn't receive an order for fries. Now I have worked in the food industry for many years and am aware of how customer service should be handled but this completely disappointed me. After not only one mistake with the drinks but also not ringing us up for a small fry that we clearly had ordered from the beginning, the workers made us go back into the long lunch line and re-order the fry and pay for them and wait. So at this point I am pretty upset because in any restaurant that I have ever worked for or even been a customer at and something like this happens a manager or lead figure would automatically discount the food that was not rung up as asked for in the beginning and apologize profusely but instead we get looks of confusion and distrust and no apology.

Unfortunately, as much as I do love the food at this company I refuse to give my money and time to people who handle situations like this the...

OMG!! Talk about nostalgia, the best Coney Dog made to perfection and a great meal….I visited 50 years ago and it was a simple menu (still the same😊). The Coney Dog is made with a high end brand wiener that has a one of a kind flavor. One bite and you notice that it is quality. I’m not an onion or mustard fan but since this place is famous for their Coney Dog, I tried it. It has mustard and chopped onions on top of the famous ā€œchiliā€. The chili is hard to describe…it’s their specialty and no other Coney Dog compares. It’s been their ā€œsecretā€ for generations. It has mustard that has a just right flavor and add the onions….mmm, mmm, mmm!!! The combination is PERFECTION šŸ’•Wow! My picky husband and I went back and ordered two morešŸ˜‚. Onion rings were batter dipped and great. And not to mention the chili cheese fries were another great side. Even the fountain drink Pepsi tasted great. I can’t say enough how happy that we ate there. We are from out of town but we’re going to find excuses to come back often. We visited the downtown diner, the original one that’s been there for generations. They kept the original walk in feel….like a time in history. I’m rambling on, but I want to emphasize how special this place is and how they’ve kept the same menu and quality of food that you’ll rarely...

Coney Island has been a staple of Kalamazoo Michigan since 1915! A true Coney Dog..not Chili! My father ate there often! He and his buddy would go almost every week. His buddy, who married my dad's wife sister, Uncle Mike to me, passed away not to long ago. He adored the Coney Dog and occasionally he would order them to be shipped to Manassas Virginia. Coney Island does ship! Recent years before his passing he moved back to Kalamazoo and yes his first stop was Coney Island. My dad and him in the 50's would go around least twice a week. So when friends of mine said let's go to Coney Island..we went. When you first come in to the restaurant, you smell the Coney sauce on the stove, see the hot dogs on an antique griddle. They have burgers too which are great. Prices are reasonable and it's a great lunch spot. From the tin tiles on the ceiling to the simple seating. It's nothing fancy but nostalgic. Very clean. It's still run by the family, as the son has taken over operations now. Nothing...

The first time here so I decided I would try three different types of dogs they have. First off was the New York style hot dog, piled high with surprisingly good sauerkraut. I've never tried sauerkraut on a hot dog before, and if I come back to Coney Island I'm definitely having another one. Second what's the Chicago style dog, with a healthy portion of toppings that makes the hot dogs in Chicago look tiny :-) you earned a gold star on this one for sure. And lastly, is their namesake Coney Dog. I know a lot of people love this, but I was not a fan. To me it tasted like the beef that they had on top they had boiled and water when they cooked it to help it crumble, then they forgot to add seasoning... I think it would have been better off just as a plain hot dog, the extra meat really seemed like it had no flavor to me. And if I go back for another New York style dog, yes I will try another Coney Dog to see if my first one was just a fluke or if that's how it really is.

Classic dog house open for well over a century. The classic interior reminds me of visiting when I was a kid. The Coneys taste great like always but with inflation and all, it’s gotten expensive. I don’t blame the place but it’s gotten so I’ll only visit on rare occasions when it’s pushing a twenty spot for a couple dogs, fries and a drink.
