Modern Pastime — Local services in Kalispell

We've been supporting this small business for a year now, well into the thousands of dollars. The first time we went in we spent over $400 on small gifts and as she checked us out I thanked her, and the response was 'you're welcome.' My husband noticed it was a weird exchange (shouldn't it be the other way around?) We've gone in countless times since, and every time it's the same exchange after spending an average of $250 or so at a time on little items. Not once have they ever said thanks for your business. Or just thank you. On another visit to the store, my friend asked the employee something about one of their products and she referred her to the internet to find the answer. I can't believe any small business could be so rookie when it comes to customer service or training their staff, or understanding the simple business practice of being grateful to their customers who shop there regularly or even one time. I spent $378 in 2 separate visits this week and after we checked out they said 'thanks for stopping by.' It cracked us up. That's what you say when someone 'stops by' but doesn't buy anything. Just not business savvy. Tried to support this small business but they still have a way to go to make it a satisfying experience. I have other choices for my retail needs, including the internet - the bots are friendlier...

What a lovely shop in downtown Kalispell. Friendly staff always greets you and does not hound you while you are browsing. There's a LOT of eye pleasing items to look at! So many different items offered here like cocktail syrups, additives, and kits, kitchen items, home decor, books, candles, bath soaps and luxuries, jewelry, and a section for clothing in the back to name a few. It's a gem of a store and always neatly arranged and easy to navigate. What a great place for gifts and always something for me to take...
