Delicious Cappuccino! Free samples and smells of roasted beans for sale on the countertop, several pour over stations, roasted and unroasted coffee beans for sale by the ounce. I feel you get a totally different vibe here than other coffee shops in town, which is great. There needs to be something for every kind of coffee drinker. The Bird & Billy is for the true coffee enthusiast, someone who really enjoys the experience of coffee, and anyone who wants to have a more sophisticated coffee experience than just going through your average Starbucks drive through. They are still in the soft open, so my 5 stars for atmosphere took into account that they haven't been able to set up their space fully yet. Despite that, there was a certain sophisticated and intelligent vibe to the place that just made me feel like grabbing a novel, putting on my reading glasses, and sipping my cappuccino while wistfully watching the cars pass on main street - just the sort of atmosphere I look for in a good coffee house. The service was something to behold - Family owned and operated, my order was taken and crafted by what I assume are the kids of the family... who are all no doubt far above most people twice their age in both intellect, baking and barista skills, and business savvy. Awe and wonder struck me at how professional they all were! I found myself wishing I had been raised in that family! This added to the amazing atmosphere. I am very impressed by this soft open and I am excited to see how this coffee shop develops in the coming months! I will be back to try their Cortado and a freshly baked scone. I will probably end up spending hours in a good book, journaling, or inspired to sketch because this coffee house seems the perfect place to do all...

The Bird and Billy: More Than a Coffee Shop—A Montana Treasure

The Bird and Billy isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a whole experience. In a state like Montana, where coffee shops are plenty, this one stands out as something truly special. It’s a gathering place for those who appreciate the craft, the flavor, and the heart behind every cup.

From the moment you walk in, you feel it: the warmth, the intention, the beauty. It’s more than just good coffee (though the coffee is absolutely amazing)—it’s the environment, the aesthetic, and the people. You’re not just served; you’re welcomed, educated, and embraced. Every visit leaves you with more than a caffeine buzz—you leave with knowledge and connection.

What makes it even more magical is seeing a whole family working together, pouring their passion into everything they do. It’s rare and deeply moving. You feel like you’re witnessing something sacred—something built from love, unity, and purpose.

I never leave without taking home a bag of coffee. Once you taste it, you have to continue the experience at home. It’s that good. And please, do yourself a favor and try the sourdough bread—baked fresh daily with so much love, it might just ruin all other bread for you.

Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just someone who appreciates authenticity and beauty, The Bird and Billy is one of those rare gems that nourishes both your body...

I've been coming here for a few weeks during their soft opening, and I can't recommend this place enough. Every time I enter the shop I'm met with friendly staff and a cozy, comfortable environment to enjoy a cup of coffee and a delicious treat. They really know their stuff about coffee: the walls are lined with various beans on display and tasting notes for each one, and you can sample a few different brews to see what might catch your palette. And the baked goods are excellent every single time; I'm partial to a good pastry or baked treat, and I've always had a big smile on my face with each bite followed by some of the best tasting drip coffee in town. It's fun watching the bakers stretch and fold their bubbling sourdough while I wait for my order, and I appreciate the care that's being taken to make sure that everything offered is the best it can be. It's so exciting to see such a high-quality, friendly, wholesome coffee shop move in to the downtown area, and I look forward to not only their grand opening soon but also to their becoming a part of our community here in Kalispell. Bravo, and you have me as a committed...

My husband & I were so excited to see another coffee shop opening in Kalispell, especially on Main St. We followed along on YouTube anticipating their opening and stopped by this morning. My husband had two doppios, and enjoyed both origins. He also had a sourdough scone and said it was tasty. I had the sticky toffee latte and loved it. Smooth and not too sweet, could still taste the espresso do well balanced with the milk. They are offering free samples of their coffee via French press as well so it was great to try those out. It’s very clear they know their coffee, care about their product/service, and love what they do. The space is already nice with their soft opening & they are still adding more so we’re really excited and only see it getting better and better as they curate their space and build out the menu more. I’m so glad they had a soft opening and we could start enjoying their coffee. We look forward to frequenting this new spot!
