Far Pavilions — Local services in Katy

Far Pavilions and Ratna are amazing! We moved from a compact townhome in the middle of Houston to a spacious and wonderful, but very empty, home on an acre outside of Houston. We were completely overwhelmed until Ratna became what we lovingly called our design spiritual advisor! It was very important to us to have beautiful design in our home that wasn’t cookie cutter. The “rustic elegance” of Far Pavilions filled that need perfectly. The wood pieces we selected were completely unique with gorgeous, solid wood and metal architectural features repurposed into functional, beautiful furniture. The large selection and variety of gorgeous pieces were wonderful, but also overwhelming when we had so many spaces to fill. Ratna came to the rescue with her design consultation. She came to our home and spent time understanding our needs and preferences. Her first step was to ask us to identify those pieces we already owned that were important for us to keep. With Ratna’s help we incorporated favorite asian antiques and contemporary art with incredible sideboards, end tables, coffee tables, and mirrors to create that right-out-of-the-designer-magazine look in a home that still lets us prop our feet on the table and watch television comfortably. We’ve made many trips back to Far Pavilions as we’ve added more toss pillows here and a bench there. Our latest project is remodeling the small powder room off of the living area where once again Far Pavilions had the perfect piece in a small cabinet with beautiful architectural details that is creating the focal point of the new room.

An FB Ad while browsing for some furniture led us to Far Pavilions over 6 months ago. Continued to ogle at those beautiful pieces online but could not decide what we wanted. One fine Saturday morning, wife and I decided to make a road-trip from Mckinney to Katy, TX - A 700 Mile return trip at that.

Stepped in just after lunch and Rithika showed us around her place while trying to get to know us and our home better. She listened to our needs and decided to take us to her warehouse - something I never expected a business to do. So, off we went to the warehouse a few miles from her store and got a chance to see some really interesting pieces.

The designer in Rithika asked us tons of questions and saw some pics of our house and made some good recommendations - and we selecting a few pieces.

She was kind enough to offer to send out some pieces along with the shipment which I could place in my home at no obligation and I could pay if I liked and wanted to keep them. Wow! That's customer delight right there!

The experience did not stop there - once we receive the pieces we bought and those Rithika sent out, we placed them where we wanted at home, did a Facetime call to validate the placement and decided to keep those pieces we had not bought yet. Also, her staff was so kind and patient as he placed the furniture to our satisfaction.

Apparently Rithika travels quite often to India looking for some interesting pieces and I am looking forward to hear about...

You will not find any cookie cutter or cliche items here. Most pieces are unique, one of a kind treasures made by hand antiques or with antique elements. We loved working with the store owner, Ritika Bhasin, who provided us with lots of her time, attention, and valuable advice in choosing correct pieces for our home. She even came to our house to offer a free design consultation. All the staff that we worked with at Far Pavilions were very friendly and helpful. We ended up purchasing several pieces from this store, love them all, and once the need for more beautiful furniture in our home arises this will be the first place we'll look.
