I’m not normally one to go out for breakfast, but there are several exclusively breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurants that are changing my mind. One of them is First Watch, and the location I have visited more than any other is this one, night next to the I-10 frontage road in Katy.
Much like the other First Watch locations, this one is medium in size with tables and chairs plus a bar with additional seating, perfect for those times when you may want to dine solo. It is located next to a strip mall so there should be no problem finding a place to park. Just walk in and the hostess will be ready to greet you and seat you.
What I like best about First Watch is the food. It is natural and wholesome, with veggies and fruits galore. I usually order one of the omelets when I visit, but I have been known to switch to pancakes or a sandwich and side when the mood is right. Sure, there are the occasional sugary options on the menu, but you don’t have to look hard to find something healthy, low- calorie, vegetarian, etc.
The drinks at First Watch are equally intriguing. They usually have multiple, healthy options on the menu. I normally go for a kale tonic with my meal, but they also serve a few specialty drinks that often get my attention. Service at this location is prompt and courteous, too.
It’s good to try to eat healthier and First Watch is a great choice for those who want to load up on fruits and vegetables. I always feel good when I visit here, and I leave feeling even better. First Watch in Katy has restored my interest in dining out for a morning or midday meal and it’s a place I recommend for breakfast,...
Read moreEveryone comes to first watch because you know about the food and the options. Each location has free parking and is usually in a large strip mall. This is now one of my favorite locations but only when I walked into the establishment today because I do not like this part of town. This particular one is right in front of Ross near Best Buy. The main door… It just seems like an odd location. the entrance, everything about this location makes me wanna not enter but my friend wanted to meet here today so I was pleasantly surprised.
All three of us had coffee and we had a frittata, a quinoa bowl with pesto and chicken, which was excellent, and very filling and some kind of sunflower toast and an omelette. See pics. The only thing about this location that was a bit off was Mateo-our server. He was very sweet, helpful and a little eager and kept coming back to our table to offer more things or service or just to follow up, but to be interrupted at least eight times in hour 2 1/2 hour conversation was a bit much. I would recommend making sure the servers can read body language and being aware. If we look up and we look around and we’re looking for help at that time rush over, but not constantly walking up to the table and saying is there anything you need? Again, he’s probably just an eager. It’s definitely better than a...
Read moreI recently dined at First Watch and was blown away by how delicious my meal was. The BLT was amazing—crispy, flavorful bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, and perfectly toasted bread. The accompanying tomato basil soup was the perfect pairing: rich, comforting, and bright with the fresh basil notes. Every bite reminded me why First Watch is one of my go-to spots for brunch.
What really made the experience outstanding, though, was Christine, our server. Christine was absolutely excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. She greeted us with a warm smile, offered thoughtful menu suggestions, and kept our drinks refilled without us having to ask. She checked in at just the right times, ensuring our needs were met without ever feeling intrusive. Her knowledge of the menu and her genuine hospitality elevated the meal from great to truly memorable.
If you’re looking for top-notch food and standout service, I highly recommend trying the BLT with the tomato basil soup at First Watch, and be sure to ask for Christine as your server. She’s an excellent waitress and a real asset to...
