We went a couple of times to activate and had a good experience. This time we hosted a birthday party since our kids enjoyed it. The first thing is that when you want to book a party it’s all through the email, there no person to talk to, I asked them if I can book it through the phone they said that they do all of it through email, even in person they tell you go to a link to request a party and someone will contact you. This should’ve been the first sign for me to not book it at activate. Miscommunication all along. Birthday boy is 7 and had been there twice without any restrictions/ requirements to have a paid adult at the play room, when we arrived to the location the front told me that I have to have a paid adult with every group that has kids below the age of 10, I was ok that’s fine, then he says but we are fully booked so no available tickets for adults to accompany the kids because when I booked it I only booked for the kids ! So now what? Do I send the guests back?!! Then all the guests have to arrive on time before the group can play (which is understandable) and we get 20 minutes grace period if they other guests are late more than 20 minutes then they reduce the participant number for the party !!!! Can you imagine tell the birthday guests -sorry you don’t have a spot in the birthday anymore !!!!! Are you kidding me ?!!!! I told the host I’m fine if they come late and loose playtime but we cannot say to the birthday guests (sorry go back home) there shouldn’t be back and forth on that matter, why do I have to convince the front and discuss that with him??!! We finally got in 15 minutes later and they gave us one extra ticket for another adult, we had 3 groups so we fell short in one group and were scrambling between the 3 groups to have them all play, all the guests showed up, and yes some were late BUT showed up ! Imagine if they had no spot.
I admit that the age policy was in the email and I missed it but this whole encounter was terrible, I didn’t expect the age limit because literally we were at activate 2 days after I booked the birthday party and no men’s of the age policy. And that’s another reason why direct human to human communication is necessary.
We will go back for play but never for a birthday party and wouldn’t recommend that, very stressful when you have guests and thinking that you won’t be able to...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but it fell short of us enjoying the gaming experience. We came on a Saturday evening to the last time slot 11pm and according to the email we were supposed to arrive 15 minutes early which we did and were told to sit down and wait. No one came up and asked us if we’ve been here before if we knew what to do nothing so we just sat there for 15-20 minutes until a young lady with the red braids finally helped us out and told us how to sign in and create a player profile. After we did this, a young man escorted us to where the games were, and confusingly explained how to play the games which we really didn’t understand which I verbally stated so he was no help at all. Luckily another person who was waiting in line behind me showed me and my kids what to do which was very helpful. So customer service was lacking in my opinion. I’ve been to another interactive gameplay establishment here in Houston called Immersive game box, which was way better than this place. First if you’re going to have people running around playing games they offer, no beverages, and no drinks (immersive game box they offer, beverages and you have your own little private play box to play in). As other commenters have mentioned there’s a lot of cardio or movement in these games so to not even sell customers water or beverages is ridiculous! This place offers a variety of different games but you have to wait in line (wait times are very short) When You enter the room to play the games it would be helpful if they explained how to play the game before you begin and in all honesty I spent about 60 seconds or less in each room because we had no idea what to do in some of the games. It literally starts as soon as you enter the room. A few of the games weren’t even working we went in one room (laser room) and it was completely frozen like the software had frozen. This actually happened on two or three of the games where we could not play. There’s only one sanitizer station all the way at the end of the hall. I don’t know for $100. I definitely did not enjoy my experience here and definitely won’t be back. Definitely check out Immersive Gamebox we had a much better...
Read moreMy kids loved this place! The games are super fun. We took kids from age range 4-11 years old. I definitely think the 4 year old struggled and may have been a little bit too young for it. I had to hold her up a lot just to play and it made it so I couldn't play. The place itself deserves 5 stars. The reason I gave it 3 is because of customer service. It needs to be more clear and obvious on the website that you MUST WEAR CLOSED TOED SHOES. I scoured the website but never saw anything. I guess it says that when you pay but I was not the one who paid. It wasn't even mentioned when my husband made the reservations. We got there with a group of 11 for a birthday party. We drove an hour to get there and most of us were from out of town (Arizona). We went to the one in Katy, TX. We got there early before our scheduled time and waited 20 minutes before they called us up. Once they did, they then mentioned we all needed closed toed shoes. All but one of us had closed toed shoes. Had they had a sign or told us right when we arrived, we could have fixed the problem. They had zero empathy towards the issue and basically made us the problem and we just didn't see it on their website. For the record, I still can't find where it says that. My sister in law (who did not have closed toed shoes) asked to speak to a manager. The guy up front just said "I mean, you can but she will just tell you the same thing I did." I felt that was super unprofessional. Eventually, the manager came out and she was very nice and accommodating. She allowed my sister in law to drive to a nearby store and get the proper shoes and would start the time once she was back. It all worked out but I do feel the front desk people need some work on customer service. The guy also said we were eating into our time because we were starting so late when we were there early! It wasn't even our fault why we started late! This was before we realized the shoe situation. All in all, the place is fun for kids and adults. I would recommend but just make sure to wear CLOSED TOED SHOES because the website does not...
