I’m ready to share my honest experience after living at The Hue on Greenhouse for four years.
This will be my final lease term here, as I do not plan on renewing. I want to be fair and objective in my review, so here are the pros and cons:
Pros • Location: The location is excellent. With quick access to I-10, you can get anywhere easily. Stores, restaurants, and the mall are all within 10 minutes. • Apartment Layout: I’ve lived in two different units and enjoyed both. The appliances are modern, the hardwood floors throughout the apartments are beautiful, and the space is generous for the price point. • Maintenance Staff: Responsive, respectful, and efficient. They’ve always done their jobs well. Apartment events: They are good with having events and food trucks at the apartment complex. Those are fun and they don't seem cheap and tacky. I appreciate that.
Cons • Parking: This is by far the biggest drawback. When I first moved in, parking was open for both residents and guests, and there were more than enough spaces. Now, visitor parking is extremely limited, and if you live near the front, your guests may have to park all the way in the back—an issue that raises safety concerns. Over the years, I’ve witnessed break-ins, suspicious activity, and even firearm-related incidents. As a woman with primarily women guests, asking them to park in unsafe areas feels unacceptable. • Parking App & Restrictions: Earlier this year, a parking app was introduced. While the idea is fine in theory, the execution is overly restrictive. Guests are limited to three visits per seven day time period (not actual work week), seven per month, and no more than five guests at a time. Permits automatically last 24 hours, even if your guest stays only 20 minutes. Cars are regularly towed—I’ve witnessed it often, and even had a friend’s car towed. The system causes more stress than convenience. • Excessive Fines: Residents are frequently threatened with fines. I once saw staff taking pictures of patios to enforce minor violations. While I understand the need for rules, the enforcement feels excessive and nitpicky. • Property Maintenance: In four years, I can count on one hand how many times the hallways have been power-washed. The upkeep could be much better for the rent we pay. Let’s not get on the overflowing of the trash chutes and the trash room itself. Being that I have seen rats (had this experience in my first unit) and have seen them walking around this makes me uncomfortable. I will add that it’s not necessarily because of the dirt of the apartment complex but because the location. The street the apartment complex is on used to be an open field that has had a lot of apartments being build. So bugs, rats, and stuff is the norm of being in an open field area. • Amenities & Fees: It’s frustrating to be charged additional fees to rent amenities when we already pay monthly for them. The pool, while nice, is another example. Being required to wear wristbands while swimming—even after showing proof—feels unnecessary and disruptive. Management Turnover: In my four years here, there have been at least three different management companies or teams. Each brings new staff and new rules, which creates inconsistency and confusion for residents. It often feels like just as you adjust, things change again. Broken Gates & Elevators: The gates to the complex are frequently broken, broken as I write this review—and when they are, they often stay that way for 3–5 days at a time, at least three times a month. On top of that, I can’t speak for other buildings, but in mine, the elevator is frequently out of service as well, which is incredibly inconvenient.
Overall This property has great potential, and there are aspects I’ve enjoyed, but the overly strict rules, parking headaches, and excessive regulation have diminished the experience. If you love the area, you may be better off choosing one of the many nearby apartments without the same level of restrictions. For the rent prices here, it shouldn’t feel like...

I wouldn’t recommend these apartments. The day before our move in date I went to the office to ask if I can do a walk through of the apartment to make sure everything has been touched up, deep cleaned and fixed. They didn’t let me because supposedly they were still “working on it”. Come move in date we came across a lot of issues, lights were out/ flickering, dirty apartment.. dirty showers, disconnected dryer, broken refrigerator drawers, dented refrigerator, roach infested, disgusting floors (meaning they never mopped it) low water pressure in restrooms, till this day ( 3weeks after moving in) I’m still having roach issues and have submitted request to have pest control come out to fix this issue, they only sent him once and he was trash.. literally just did the kitchen and said “okay if you have anymore issues just contact the office” and left.. didn’t do the ENTIRE apartment like they’re suppose to.
The walls are extremely thin. So you can kiss a goodnight of sleep goodbye if you live in the first, second or third floor. You can literally hear everything from your upstairs neighbors. When they walk it sounds like they’re stomping as hard as they can to the point it moves our lights and fans. You’ll also have annoying kids ding dong ditching while banging tf out of your door.. as if you’re being raided by the cops. So kiss peace and quiet goodbye as well.
5/13/25 Update **
So we found out from one of our neighbors that we moved into the apartment the exact same day the old residents moved out!! We were appalled that they would make our move in date the same as their move out date! This explains why the apartment was a mess, filthy, disgusting and not even ready! ! When i tell you our feet were charcoal black from stepping on the floor I mean it! For the amount they ask for the deposit you’d expect the apartment to be top notch and up to everyone’s expectations moving in!
They also worry about the wrong things, worried about what residents have on their patio.. as in brooms… not allowed to have fricking brooms on the patio or privacy screens.
You can submit requests of residents noise complaints and they do absolutely nothing about it. All they do is close the request without even reaching out to you and fixing the issue.
The pool has been closed and locked for about 4 months now and they have absolutely no desire to get it fixed. People choose apartments for the amenities and they can’t even have that available for their residents . The game room area has a pool table but the billard cues (the sticks) are all broken.. the hockey table hasn’t worked since we moved in. With summer coming up it’s going to suck not being able to enjoy the pool with the family . Smh
The second exit gate has been damaged for years now with no chances of it getting fixed. (Was told from residents) making this a hazard incase one day there is ever an emergency we got two working exits.
The smell of marijuana travels all over the building.. you can be outside walking and the smell just hits your strong in the face.. but they have a policy in place that there’s no smoking allowed… yet it smells everywhere.
I used to live in these apartments when they first had completed construction and they were nothing like how they are today. I regret my decision of ever coming back. These different leasing agents in the office are also very unprofessional, nothing compared to the agents that were here the very first time I moved in about 3 years ago. Who actually got things done.
If you’re looking for nice apartments actually worth spending your money on, look somewhere else. These positive reviews that you see on here are from residents that go to those little bs “events” they do every once in a while and they’re content with that. When us real concerned residents want changes and our complaints heard and fixed. Don’t let them fool you with whatever pretty picture they try to paint you when you’re doing a tour. That’s how...

Cons: There are people at the pool past amenity hours playing music super loud almost every day and it’s not a few minutes past hours at times I find myself waking up at 2 am with people blasting music at the pool. Update: For the past 2 years this never got addressed.
Walls and windows are super thin can hear neighbors at all times. Can even hear normal walking from upstairs neighbor. Can hear the pool at all times as well even when no one is using it.
Our move in process was terrible we initially signed for a top floor apartment. Construction got delayed and was informed 2 days before move in. They provided a better floor plan for us only after realizing we were not able to move dates due to their extremely short notice.
Amenities already broken mind you these are “brand new” apartments. Gym has no AC. Closest elevator has no lights it’s pitch black inside if you use it and takes eternity to go up 1 floor definitely about to break any second. Update: Elevator always broken.
Customer service is the worst. Office never answers. When providing complaints they never call back and if you manage to get someone on the line they just tell you they’ll inform their manager and get back to you. They never get back to you…. This has happened more than 4 times. Update: After moving out of this horrendous apartment they will then proceed to charge you for all maintenance to prepare it for the next resident. Even if you left the apartment spotless and with no damage. Cleaning fee, painting fee, etc.
Have had to make multiple service orders already due to items in the apartment being broken upon move in. I.e. ceiling fan and bubbling roof. Definitely not a “new apartment” experience.. Update: Bubbling roof never got fixed. They just painted over it multiple times and it got worse over the two years I lived there.
During the 2 years I was there. There were 3-4 shootings. I found multiple used bullets in the parking lot and the apartment never felt safe. Even other residents had signage on their door warning delivery drivers to never leave their packages at the door or it would get stolen.
Most of these issues could be resolved if the management were proactive and had a sense of how people could abuse the amenities and rules.
Saw multiple cars get robbed of their wheels. Left on cinderblocks. Stay as far away as possible from this place. unless you like thin walls, no management, no sense of responsibility, and no...
