Trafee Coffee and Tea — Restaurant in Katy

I dropped in this morning to give this new place a try. I'm so glad I did.

The decor is modern and minimalist, which oftentimes makes a place feel cold and unwelcoming. But here they use touches of wood, rattan, and greenery to give the place a warmer, comfortable feel.

The server who took my order was friendly, and she patiently took the time to show me around the sizable menu. Had I not needed to take my order to go, I would have gotten the vietnamese drip coffee. I love the ritual of the pour over and waiting for it to brew. Outside of table-waited restaurants, most places I've been these days give it to you already brewed, so I'm really glad to see they offer it with the phin filter.

As it was, I ordered the iced traditional vietnamese coffee, 50% sweet, and it was excellent. The coffee itself was bold and nutty, and they balanced it well with the condensed milk.

I came 2 times , once was during their soft opening, and the other was on their grand opening. Their matcha was the main reason we visited at first, cause the color looked promising. It was decent 8/10. One of the best matcha spots in Katy/ Houston area for me. They hand whisked the matcha, it was pretty good for the price and portion. Recommend matcha latte or Jasmine matcha.

Their jasmine tea was pretty good , the scent of jasmine was stronger🌸. Their coffee is on the stronger side than average American coffee, since they served Vietnamese coffee which extracts from “Phin”. Highly recommend if you’re looking for Vietnamese style coffee.

The drinks with no ice will not be fill up. I recommend to togo no ice to keep the consistency original whenever you wanna drink it later.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place is a must. I’m a big fan of Vietnamese coffee and have tried many shops around Houston, but I’d never found one that truly captured the authentic smell and taste, until now. The coffee here tastes just like back home, and the aroma alone is worth the visit. On top of that, the staff is warm and welcoming, the space is open and comfortable, and the wifi makes it a perfect spot for professionals who want a break from work....
