I shop at this store all the time & I have NEVER been treated the way I was today. I sent my mother here to have some charms put on her bracelet and she asked the lady when she dropped it off if I would be able to pick it up for her. The employee told her yes, all I would need is either a receipt or her phone number. Ok fast forward to today, I go to pick her bracelet up, i walk in the store, no employees to be seen, i stand around for a couple of mins, nothing... finally I have to say "hello" to get anyone to come out of the backroom. They ask if I have a receipt, I told her no, my mother was told I could pick up her bracelet with her phone number. She quickly gave me an attitude and said "well our policy is that you have to have a receipt or ID" at this point I was frustrated & irritated. If one of your employees tells someone one thing then you need to honor it. So I repeated myself in case I wasn't clear the 1st time, your employee told my mother I could pick it up with her phone #, i wouldn't be here otherwise. She finally asked for the last name, I told her. She then proceeded to tell me to describe the bracelet. At this point I am furious & she can see it & proceeds to tell me to not be angry, that this is for their & my protection. Well ma'am I was angry, because I am getting the run around & since I paid for most of the bracelet I started naming off all the charms, midway through she stopped me & said "ok that should suffice" printed out a receipt and i asked if she wanted me to sign anything, she said no. I'm extremely disappointed in the way I was treated today, I love James Avery but it seems this store needs some more training if the employees are all not on the same page & telling customers different things. I sent my mom to this store so she could be in & out & not have to deal with...
Read moreI’ve visited this location twice in the last week. As I returned to the store today for my scheduled pickup, I was NOT greeted, none of the staff made an effort to assist me, and I stood at the pickup counter waiting to be helped where an employee made eye contact with me then walked away. I stood patiently while I waited for her to complete her task….which was nothing. And as I stood there, another client was being helped beside me. The employee, who initially walked away, seemed more interested in listening to their conversation rather than assisting me until I inquired about my order. Throughout the time she assisted me she never made eye contact and when she wrapped up with my order she placed my receipt on the counter rather than putting it in my hand. As an African American woman, I found it disrespectful to be treated in that manner especially because I was respectful of everyone in the store. As often as I am a customer here, it surprised me that I was treated in this way. I hope there can be some staff training on how to treat ALL your customers...
Read moreThis is my second time shopping here both times around Christmas. I am African American and upon entering seem to be treated differently from the Caucasian people. When I walked in tonight 12/21/2022 I was not greeted by anyone. however, the non black lady walking in behind me got the greatest welcoming and a few jokes were cracked, as I stood to the side with no one to assist me. After being helped I was told to go stand in line, maybe I was standing in the wrong spot I’m not sure but a few others stood behind me then a load announcement of only one line was made how embarrassing…. Laura and Synthia were the main two who made this experience a 1 star. I only come to JA for my granddaughter and I always start off excited. But after experiencing this 2yrs in a row, I will never return to this location. What happen to treating people equal all of our money...
