Dr Ashtiaq is a true one-of-a-kind very knowledgeable, personable, patient, and full fledge eye care provider. Dad (80 yo) told me his eyes were bothering him and he needed glasses. I was careful in my selection to choose someone who works well with the elderly + a veteran + someone who doesn't always wear his hearing aids + someone who may not always follow instructions. When I called, Dayana assured me Dr Ashtiaq also worked well with children and the kids are happy with their new glasses. This says a lot to me. However, at the appointment, it turns out Dad's eyes were in PAIN because of very bad infections behind BOTH eyes. Luckily, Dr Ashtiaq is qualified to treat and manage this condition. She didn't treat me like a poor caregiver/daughter and she didn't berate Dad yet encouraged him to be more forthcoming. Had I gone to a Walmart/Target/run of the mill eye glass place, proper care could have been severely delayed. Dad felt comfortable with the treatment, treatment plan, and follow ups. Yesi and Dayana have been wonderful and accommodating with scheduling. (Bilingual office staff, Katy Texas!) They are always pleasant to us, whether we're their first customer on a Saturday morning or we're the last patient of the day, running in from traffic coming in ftom TMC. To pat myself on the back, I'm proud of my decision to add and trust Dr Ashtiaq to Dad's eye care. I would encourage anyone who needs eye care to schedule at this location. My first experience with Optical Illusionz was excellent, and I was very satisfied with the service provided by Dr. Alina Ishtiaq. She conducted my mom’s eye exam in a very professional manner and thoroughly explained everything—what her eyes needed, the process, and the best options for her vision. Dr. Alina made sure to ask questions, listen to concerns, and provide the best possible care.

The staff also went above and beyond; they were very helpful with insurance and greeted us warmly as soon as we walked in. They checked in to make sure everything was going well. The clinic is well-organized, clean, and offers an amazing selection of eyeglass frames with a wide variety to choose from.

Dr. Alina Ishtiaq gives 100% to each of her patients and never rushes anyone. My mom used to visit other opticians, but she never received the kind of care and attention she received here.

I had a very disappointing experience at Optical Illusionz in Katy. They have a limited selection of contact lens brands, and the ones they offered caused discomfort and irritation to my eyes. I tried two different brands with different prescriptions, but neither worked for me.

The most frustrating part is their strict non-refundable policy. Even though the fittings were unsuccessful and they did not provide a final prescription, they refused to issue a refund. I felt stuck with a service that did not meet my needs, and I ultimately lost both time and money on two separate visits. Now I have to go elsewhere to get a proper prescription.

I strongly advise anyone considering this place to call ahead and confirm they carry the specific brand you need.
