Five Below — Local services in Kearney

This place is a relatively decent place to shop. It has an abundance of items to browse, and for cheap. It's more-so fun to go there, see what they have that week, then go home. No series shopping to be done here, unless you enjoy cheap snacks (which they have a wide variety of).

For customer service, no one usually greets you, or ask if you need help. And I prefer that, because I'm not a 20th century dinosaur that expects these things from a business. I'd much rather they leave me alone, and that is exactly what I get when I go here. I actually have a braincell left to be able to think for myself, and find what I want/need on my own. I don't need hand holding, I am an adult, not a toddler, I can do my own shopping, thank you for expecting that of me. They mind their own business, and I mind mine. Just the way it should be.

I have to take a star off for their hours, though. Such a strange business practice to close at 7pm, 6pm on Sundays. As someone who wakes up relatively late in the day, due to working late nights, I can hardly ever actually GO to this store because by the time I am up and ready to start my day, they are about to close, and I'd rather not make them my first stop on my errand runs, since it's kind of out of my way. According to Google, they are open from 10am, to 7pm. That is 9 hours. They are open about a whole work shift. I can't imagine how the employees schedules are, probably just as atrocious as the hours themselves.

All-in-all though, I cannot complain when I am able...

Cashier was extremely rude accused us of putting in the items wrong (stealing) tried to act like she was trying to fix it and in the end just left the scanned items i originally had. stated that she “thought I put in the items wrong” (one of the only things she said during this interaction) when she could’ve just checked and counted. Mind you this interaction started off with her coming from behind not letting me know she was there and ended up brushing her body against me, aggressively tapping the screen and not saying anything I have no idea what warranted this behavior but this is unacceptable I love coming to this store to shop but the staff...

Great new addition to kearney. Staff needs to be a bit more attentive. But when you ask for help they are nice. Also I'm not a fan of the self check outs as a main check out stand. However, I love the candy and the big selection. Also their head phones have been amazing. I use them almost every night. They work better than more expensive sets i have bought elsewhere...
