Ms Shawna Gibbs, in the middle of an emergency, was in the words of ESPN’s Stuart Scott (MHRIP) “as cool as the other side of the pillow”. I needed to purchase a tux and was given only 48 hours advance notice. After visiting other providers located closer to my home, my wife and I were gifted the opportunity to meet Ms Gibbs. And of course, her first question was “how soon do you need the suit?” I bowed my head in embarrassment and replied “In 48 hours as we have to take a flight to Spain to attend a gala event at which a very important guest will be present.” She replied, like the cool pillow that she is “OK. I will put a rush on it and I will have it ready by 4pm (two days later).” Note: this was a Tuesday night at 8:00pm and she promised it for Thursday at 4:00pm. I suspected the alterations would cost more than the suit. Nothing could be further from the truth. My suit was ready at the promised time, I tried it on wearing my new patent-leather shoes that Ms. Gibbs made available, and all Ms. Gibbs said with a smile was “Enjoy your event in Madrid. Please tell your wife that I am glad we were able to help.” She asked for nothing else. No favorable reviews. No pictures. No “make sure you come back, now”. Nothing. She performed her professional duties and asked for nothing in return. As it should be. Thank you Ms. Gibbs. Thank you Men’s Wearhouse - DADELAND. You and Ms. Gibbs’ radiant smile embraced my emergency and turned a stressful moment into an opportunity to accompany my wife as she glowed and captured every one’s attention. Ms. Gibbs, I can’t wait to purchase my first tailored-made suit. You have a client for life and I hope these sincere words of gratitude will allow others to visit your store. And if they do, I hope they give you more than 48-hours advance notice. But, even if they don’t, you and your smile will take care of them....
Read moreMy fiancé and I went in to rent suit/ tuxes for our wedding. He also wanted to just buy a suit for himself to have. As we were browsing a sales associate came up and told us we weren’t looking in the right area without even inquiring if we were looking to buy a suit. He made us go with him to the rental section- we just wanted to browse for a few minutes. Once we said we wanted to rent suits for the wedding and not buy his whole tune changed and he was VERY RUDE trying to force us to force our bridal party to buy suits when we would NEVER do that. We cannot make anyone buy something they can rent. He refused to be flexible with us and gave us a lot of attitude. He told us there is only one suit available to rent, just a blue one.. very strange. We asked repeatedly, “really? You only rent blue suits out of a men’s warehouse?” He replied yes until other sales people came over and he changed his mind and showed us multiple options for rental. He was CLEARLY trying to get us to buy instead of rent- probably for commission, however done in the absolute wrong way. How can you just lie and say there is only a blue suit option for rent but allll these other ones for purchase? It’s really a bad system and bad way to sell things to people. We went to this store Sunday 5/12 at 1130 am and there was a huskier dark hair Hispanic man. He needs customer service training and to learn to be kind and patient with people and not lie to their faces. Also- we left men’s warehouse and bought a suit at another store within an hour of leaving. They are losing out on business from customer service like this. Unfortunately will not be coming back and will be renting for the...
Read moreWell... what can I say. We walked in and weren't greeted by anyone (there were 2 men in the front). We also weren't helped by anyone until we went searching to see who could give us some information. This was our first time going to Men's Wearhouse and it was not a good experience until the very end... after I complained.
The only person that was helping us specialized in Rentals, which wasn't at all what we were looking for. He tried to look for someone else to help us but it seemed like no one was even working there. He had a good amount of information but it just wasn't helpful to what we wanted since it was mostly about rentals. He had my fiancé try on a rental... what a waste of time. I give him props though because he was the only person who initiated customer service with us. He proceeded to help other people since there was no one else in the store, and that was it for us I guess.
After walking around aimlessly, I finally saw a lady helping another couple and complained to her that no one was helping us with what we needed and that it was very disappointing. She was very nice and apologized to us, assuring us that as soon as she was done she would help us.
She ended up sending someone else to help us! 'WOW! Who knew people actually worked here?!'
Look, at the end we were helped by Andy who was very nice and recommended good ideas to us but the experience was just so lousy in general.
I think because we looked young, no one took us seriously but little did they know this was for our very formal destination wedding and we had a big budget to spend. Maybe this location of Men's Wearhouse can learn some customer service after...
