So, I don't know if the guys who helped me out here actually read these reviews, but it's the only way I know to get them a pic along with my thanks. (I guess I could go old school and print a pic and put it in a letter, but this feels like a good start.)
My best friend got married 5 minutes from here yesterday, and my day-of job was building and decorating their chuppah. One of the branches suddenly snapped into 3 pieces 3 hours before the wedding, and this structure really relied on being a cube, so the whole thing came crashing down in a very dramatic, slow-motion twisting, movie-worthy fashion. (Let's not read into it, or if we do, through more of a 'coming out stronger through adversity with the help of friends/community' lens!)
The next closest but larger hardware store was going to be an extra 40 minute round trip, which I really didn't have time for at that point, so I called this place to confirm they had a couple specific things. These guys were so calm and patient both on the phone and then when I stumbled in, a bit delirious from overwork and time crunch and possibly mild heat stroke. They helped me with solutions (pipe and heavy clothesline!), retrieved other stuff I realized I could use to speed up the process, and loaded up my car with a bunch of heavy topsoil (I was no longer comfortable leaving this thing up without base weights, but being a smaller store they didn't have bags of gravel or sand). All while being efficient but super chill, and really nice and polite despite what I'm sure was some bemusement at my general state of existence. I even got sent off with a "congrats, er, mazel tov to them!"
Normally I review places for how they are at their actual job, but this one is about vibe. These guys saved the day just as much through their attitude as through the materials, and I'm super grateful.
Anyway, the decor part didn't end up quite as epic/polished as I had planned with the truncated timeline and redistribution of flowers to the weighted bases, but I think we did a pretty darn good job considering. The rushed pipe situation is glaringly obvious to my own eye, but apparently almost nobody noticed because of the power of ambience/theater. Don't have pics from the actual ceremony yet, which was even more beautiful, what with the fancy people drawing your eye. I just wanted the guys to see what they helped with. And the soil under those blue cloths will be put to much better use on my own lawn than whatever fate sandbags would've met. Thank you...
