Wish I can leave a 0 star review, I was just on vacation with my girlfriend for a few days, wanted to stop into what I thought would be one of the coolest shops in town since it was all handmade goods. Since I do leather work as a hobby myself (for about 2 years I’m 22 and started around college time), we saw the store on our drive into town and purposely made time to stop by. I began a conversion with the lady who owns the shop and began to tell her how I make leather as well and she asked what I do, I went to show her a picture and she instantly said no that’s ok, not caring about another leather worker, I ignored it and continued looking and commenting on how nice everything was, which was instantly interrupted by a very odd comment “if you want to buy something let me know, otherwise I think it’s very rude for other leather workers to just browse around and steal ideas,“ which I said alright and walked out, and then continued to mention she gets “territorial” , imagine that, how about inspire young hobbyists, these are they type of people that kill handcrafting goods, funnily enough everything there was about as cookie cutter as it gets simple stencil cut outs stitched together with a machine, just wanted to support a fellow hobbyist and was just about to buy something but my girlfriend felt very uncomfortable after that comment and we...

Whiskey Leatherworks is an incredible, cozy little shop full of the best people! We booked a once in a lifetime belt making class the morning of our wedding for all the groomsmen & our dads to custom make their own belts, and Dan, Tad, and Ally made it an unforgettable morning.
The 12 of us arrived, with no belt making experience, and by the end of the 1.5 hour workshop we all had finely crafted belts, engraved with special customization that made it feel truly like our own work. Dan, Tad, and Ally were helpful, clear, and excited to be a part of the day’s festivities. They encouraged us to embrace the little nicks and imperfections, because they made our belts unique and our own (much like a marriage has it’s own nicks and imperfections, but is held together forever by strong leather/love!). We laughed, we pounded leather, we cried, and we pounded more leather... this was more than a belt making class, this was a memory making class. Now every time I wear my belt I will think fondly of that morning and day, and every time I am in Kennebunk I will certainly be stopping by to visit - as should you!
THANK YOU DAN, TAD, AND ALLY! YOU...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped into the Whiskey Leatherworks store while visiting Kennebunkport for the weekend and were greeted by the co-owner, Ally, who was so friendly and informative about the types of leather, sizing, and custom and off-the-rack options that we could consider in the store and online. My husband decided to buy a custom belt, which was ready in an hour and included a beautiful but subtle monogram for no additional charge. My husband loved his belt so much that it put it on immediately upon leaving the store! We were so impressed with the company story, scaling, and dedication to being made in the USA and will keep an eye out for their partnerships with distilleries and other places in Colorado where we’re visiting from. Highly recommend stopping in and treating yourself to high quality leather products with...
