I’m not one to normally leave reviews like this, but I had the worst retail experience of my life here last night. My friend and I walked in this store at 7:55pm and not one person let us know they were about to close. We don’t live in this area and had never been to an Aldi before so we didn’t know they closed at 8pm. We walk around with no one acknowledging our presence or again, having the courtesy to let us know they are closed/closing.
We have almost made it around the store and I am picking out some cheeses and one of the workers comes and CLOSES the blind/shield in front of my face and yells to her coworker to start closing them in the section my friend is walking towards. Once again, STILL no one has let us know they are closed! At this point it is maybe 8:05pm. I say to my friend “they’re trying to kick us out” to which the lovely girl that closed the blind in front of my face yells “well we’re closed so yes you need to leave”. Wow! First time we’ve been told they’re closed and in such a nice way. We then hurry to the front and have to wait about 5 minutes for a guy to come check us out.
I’ve worked in retail and I’ve been a server. I know how much you want to go home at the end of the night and how much it stinks when someone comes in at closing. BUT you do not treat them the way we were treated. There are much better ways to let someone know you are closed/closing soon.
I will never shop at Aldi again, this is why I shop and will continue to shop at Publix where customers are valued and treated...
Read more11/1/23 update They They built a new restaurant next door to my local Aldi. Bring your own bags or boxes or pay for theirs. Use a quarter to get the cart you will get the quarter back when you return it and reconnect the chain. BYO cart wipes. They are frequently OUT. I have found most everything is cheaper than ON SALE items at the larger other stores. Test the quality to see if you like. My picky cat does not like the cat food. That is the only thing so far that I won't buy. But the dog likes the cat food and treats, lol. Have found some real treasures here. Very clean store it is new seems like they are always stocking. If you can find $ off red stickers on meat on certain days you can get a great deal on meat that is expiring soon. My friend who enjoys Chardonnay wine did a taste test with Aldi brand wine vs expensive La Crema and Aldi brand won! Seasonal items are unique and wonderful. You can save A LOT of money by shopping here for most items you need. You will be surprised how much groceries you can get...
Read moreI avoided ALDI for years after a visit to the Smyrna location years ago left me unimpressed. I started shopping at this particular location in Kennesaw over a year ago, and I'm now a loyal customer. After managing a spreadsheet of price per unit of groceries across Publix, Target, Costco, Walmart, and ALDI over the course of several shopping trips and months, ALDI came out on top more than 90% of the time. When you're buying a shopping cart full of groceries, the minor differences in price can add up to $25-50 (or more) in price difference.
As far as this location, it's the best of 4 that I've been to. The location is clean, well-stocked and organized, and the staff just... works. The associates at this store may not be over-the-top chipper, but they're never rude and they keep things moving. Constantly re-stocking, arranging, checking out, cleaning; this store is run like clockwork. This ALDI location supplies nearly 100% of our household groceries at this point, and I visit...
