Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Georgia

I gave this 2 stars because in the past eating here it has been comfortable, staff friendly, and server attentive. My fiance, myself, our son, daughter n law & Lil grandson went for dinner tonight around 6:30 pm. Parking lot was slammed. We didn't mind they were busy, I mean that was to be expected. When we walked thru the door ot was like walking into a sauna. Still, we proceeded. I thought maybe it was just that particular area. Then we were pointed to a back area by whom looked like a manager. She just kinda seemed a bit unprofessional & not in any way welcoming. We got to our table in Avery tight spot all the way in the back mind you. We sat for a good 10 maybe 15 mins before my fiance had to track down a high chair & a server as we had already almost finished our drinks & not one person had came over. When our server did come, she seemed VERY uninterested in taking care of us. We said something about how hot it was and her response was, " lol, yeah its hot everywhere in here". When I tell you it was so hot in there, we had sweat just pouring out. I looked around and we weren't the only ones wiping our foreheads and complaining of the heat in this place. Furthermore, when going to get food we noticed a child lick her finger and proceed to touch the ice cream nozzle that dispenses the ice cream. To top that, there were several children putting their hands all over food that another more than likely came along and consumed. I mean seriously. There weren't any parents supervising these children at these food stations. I am all about kids learning independence, but that kind of behavior is very unsanitary & to just have free roam to touch food that is going in someone else's mouth.. and they don't even know this happened?!?! Come on guys.. after that my table stayed clear of the fruits and sweets. We also left before we were finished because the heat was just too much while trying to enjoy a meal with family. This was absolutely a terrible experience for my family who was visiting from Tennessee and us. I can't say that we would return here after tonight and I hate that because this WAS our favorite spot. I sincerely hope Golden Corral tries to correct some of these things..because this...

I ate at this restaurant today, July 27, 2024 at around 8:15. I am a type two diabetic and sometimes when I wait too long to eat, I will get sick at first bite of food. I spent over $100 for myself and my family to eat. Once I started eating, I begin to get sick. I decided to put some fish from my husband’s plate in my purse because I knew I would get hungry when I left because I wasn’t able to eat. I never do anything like this, I always eat only what is on my plate. The manager came over with a nasty disposition and told me that the food that I put in my purse I had to pay for. But I already paid for it when I came in here. I explained to her that I only wrapped up the fish because I was sick and I couldn’t eat any of my food. Inflation is really really high, golden corral charges about $20 for you to eat knowing that you will never eat $20 worth of food. My granddaughter whom I paid about $15 for she only ate ice cream so for the manager to come to my Table being rude about food that by guidelines she has to throw away is ridiculous . I thought about it she watched my daughter come to my table because she got fish that they had just put Out. For her to Watch my daughter make a plate and take the time to come over and say something to me about three little pieces of fish. I gather it must be because any food that they don’t get rid of the day before they put it out for the next day, in my opinion golden corral isn’t a place For family of more than 2, you will never get your money’s worth . I would only eat at golden corral if it’s myself and another person otherwise you’re just throwing your money out the door. First of all, they begin to snatch all the labels of the food off so you didn’t know what you were getting that is rude to do because you’re closing in 30 minutes. I said all this to say that I will never eat at this location again I definitely won’t ever spend $100 here again and due to the manager’s rudeness I totally forgot to tip my waitress. It was the most important holiday of the year, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill Day. Me and my tribe voyaged to our local Blairsville (Kennesaw) Golden Corral and upon entry, proceeded to march through the empty queue and immediately we were harassed my a local worker, who questioned our credibility and expressed his hatred for our kind of people (young adolescence). He SHOUTED "I hate you guys" as we approached the register. The other "person" was very rude and and seems to lack basic communication skills (should be unemployed). Upon being seated we were extradited to the backroom so we could be segregated from the other customer to minimalize our Golden Corral experience. We then traversed towards the buffet and soon realized that all the dishes had been marinating for quite some times in the warming dishes. Our first run in with the cuisine presented a plate of fish (breaded) that sent a burst of rancid flavors into our taste buds. Though it was a delightful surprise. Our second encounter with the fine dinning, helped us to realize that the burgers had been slow cooked on the grill and were caked in grease and old meat, words can not describe the crimes that had been committed on that flat top grill. BUT at first bite it just dripped and dripped with flavor, if you consider sawdust and dog droppings flavorful, YET it was one of the best burgers I have had in YEARS. Now on to the ice cream. Lastly, to complete you experience, we had desert. Our good friend Brotha Shard just wanted to have some ice cream. The disrespect... THE SLANDER of Brotha Shard was just saddening. What he received upon requesting a vanilla cone was appalling (see image below). The weight of this action was to much for his little heart to handle (RIP Brotha Shard may his soul rest in peace (1999-2021)). But overall it was a fun experience. The only reason that this is a 5 and not a 6 star rating is that google has a limit. I CAN NOT WAIT until we come back next year for Golden Corral Buffet...
