I actually really like this thrift store, & have followed them from a couple locations over the years.
There are definitely pros & cons to shopping here, which I'll list in my review.
➕️ The pros include a great selection of various items. Things are organized pretty well, though sometimes you might have to check a few different sections if you're really looking for something specific. [Ex: I recently found shorts I liked in the active wear section, after nearly giving up with 0 luck in the shorts aisle!].
You never know what you'll find, & it inspires creativity. It's a great place for true thrifting, without a goal or agenda. It's also great if you've got a craft project or costume you're putting together...
Added ➕️, the employees are really nice, & on a past trip, one kind employee helped me brainstorm & search for things to help with costume I was putting together! Very down-to-earth & nice people work there. They leave you alone, but are happy to help when you ask -- IMHO, perfect attitude!
🏷Prices are reasonable. They're a tad higher than I'd expect, but competitive with other thrift stores in the area.
🎃🎄🐣🍀🇺🇲They're one of the best places for holiday/seasonal items. I love visiting them around holidays - you never know what you'll find!
They also have neat linens & such - it's worth checking out. Sometimes they're shabby & old, but other times you can score useful tablecloths, placemats, sheets, etc.
➖️ The biggest negative is that the place tends to be dirty. It feels dirty, it looks dirty, it sometimes smells dirty. It's a thrift store though, & I always wash anything I buy secondhand anyway. 🤷🏻♀️ My hands are always dirty when I leave; bring hand sanitizer or plan to wash your hands after going. 🧼
Some of the clothes seem a bit "frumpy" - old style, & not in a good way. BUT sometimes you can find neat vintage items that look straight from the time period. It's really...
Read moreNeat thrift store with very reasonable prices. Wide assortment of clothing and household goods. I bought a beautiful working baby gate here for 3 dollars. Staff is ridiculously helpful. Had a guy help me hunt down an item for about 10 minutes. We never found what I was looking for, but he was the kindest associate for doing that.
*Update: this thrift store has changed locations and with that has also changed their prices. I'm very honest when it comes to my reviews. When I go to a thrift store, I expect a bargain, not overpriced or even regularly priced items. When you charge 20 dollars for a porcelain doll with a broken hand and jacked up hair, THEN want to charge EXTRA for the stand she is on, you are out of your mind! These items should be as close to bargain basement as u can get. I would only give them 1 star(from a previous 5 star review) but if u want real vintage clothing, or something that looks from the era, they actually have a cute retro section with a wide assortment. Be willing to pay too dollar, but you could rock a kick ass...
Read moreI have been going to Thrift City for many years now. I wasn't real impressed with the store when they were on 49th St & Park Blvd. It was always a mess, they just had stuff everywhere. It was dirty, dusty and just messy. Now that they have been in their new place for awhile now 66th St & 58th Ave you can see a big change. Ever since they opened there (the new store) they have always kept the store nice and neat. It is clean, the clothes and other things in the store are in better shape from when they were in the old store. I LOVE ❤❤❤ going shopping there and try to get in there a few times a month. Their prices are awesome, compared to some of the other thrift stores, the people who work there are always nice and helpful. So if you haven't shopped there yet, I suggest you give them a try. I don't think you will be...
