Bautista's Upholstery & Refinishing — Local services in Kennett Square

It took me a while to post this but since another reviewer had the same experience, I felt I should also review the business to show a pattern of dishonesty and that little has changed. I cannot recommend this business.

Between the time I dropped off my cushions to the day of pick up (about a month longer than initially told), the price doubled. Not all at once. The price went up when a supplier was out of stock, which is understandable, then I was held hostage for another $1000 just because. The explanation was that it was more work than they anticipated. We're talking about a run-of-the-mill job - foam and faux leather.

All measurements were verified at the shop with the old cushions before given a quote. The price started at $1600 and increased a week later by a couple hundred due to material not being available - understandable. When I called a week after target date to check if they were ready, my call was unexpected and they needed another two weeks. When I returned to pick them up, an additional $1000 was added to the price.

A quote is just an estimate, but a price adjustment of $1000 absolutely warrants a call to the customer. I was not called nor did they claim I was. They basically held my cushions against my will.

I can't complain about the work as it was actually good but I CANNOT recommend them due to their underhanded pricing ethics. This job ended up costing me $3000. Buyer BEWARE... After reading the great reviews(mostly 2 years old), I sent detailed pictures with measurements for an online quote and then met in person to inspect and get a verbally agreed upon price for restoring a rush seat.
