Ordered a watch from Herbertâs Jewelers Square Site on 7/13/22 and paid $30 extra for 2 day shipping. On 7/15/22 I called the store to follow up on my order since I had not received any updates. Sistina (sp?) informed me that the website I ordered through was inaccessible to them and that the specific watch I had ordered was out of stock. She offered to contact her vendor or provide a refund. In the end, I requested a refund and she informed me her accountant would be in the store the next day. I never heard back from anyone so on 7/19 I sent an email to the address listed on their website asking for an update on my refund. No response. I called the store again today and spoke with Deborah, the store manager, who informed me that they are not at all associated with the Square Site and that I would have to request a refund directly with Square. She explained that Herbertâs Jewelers did not receive my money, Square did, so the funds canât be refunded by Herbertâs Jewelers. I asked what they were doing to prevent this from happening to future customers and she just said their IT department has been informed.
The one star rating is for Herbertâs Jewelers poor communication and general lack of concern for my situation. They didnât seem to care that their store was being misrepresented by a defunct website and certainly werenât apologetic.
The purpose of this review is to warn others away from purchasing anything from the Herbertâs Jewelers Square Site. So far, requesting a refund from Square has been near impossible. It was easier just to file a dispute for the charge with my credit...
Read moreI bought an engagement ring from Matt a few months ago. Things are going well, so we went back for wedding rings. As last time, Matt has been super-helpful. He's got all angles covered, he calls back when he says he will, and he follows through. He even used his personal cell phone to send me pix of some other rings he looked up when I wasn't there. OUTSTANDING!
We checked two other local jewelry stores, as my fiancĂŠ was not 100% sure about the wedding ring. The other places, even bigger chain stores, didn't have staff as knowledgeable and somehow didn't have as good of a selection either. (even though they're bigger!)
It turned out they had something my fiance liked better than the original one, so she was 100% sure. They even saved it for her. I was the one who was tricky, because although I didn't want anything fancy with stones, I was particular about the material. I knew I didn't want gold, and I learned about other materials: ceramic, (scratch-proof, but brittle) titanium, (strong, warm, light, but scratches easily) cobalt, (hard and scratch-resistant, but not TOO hard or heavy) tungsten (super hard and dense; not quite as hard or brittle as ceramic).
I settled on a brushed titanium band, but with stepped down edges that are polished. Since they're stepped down, they won't be as prone to getting scratched as the...
Read moreUpon receiving my ring in the mail smashed, I brought it to Herbertâs Jewlers in hope they would be able to fix it. I was then told they could try their best at no charge, just that it would take some time. After waiting around a week, I was told it was finished, and stopped by to pick it up. They ended up charging me $15.00. After questioning it on the phone I was told to solely stop by and get it. When I came to get it I was told again there would be a charge of $15.82 and that I had to pay that. I payed it, but the gold snith was rude after asking if the ring could be rounded more. She exclaimed âI sure hope you didnât expect anything perfectâ. Which I was taken back by. Overall, I am slightly dissapointed after the initial great service turning sour. The lady who rang me up however, was very sweet and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, only the gold smith made the...
