Went there for our daughter's graduation party. Very displeased. Started out with two servers. One of them just disappeared part way thru. We had 20+ people. Too start, getting a drink was not too easy. I had tepid water the whole time. After the salads came out we waited about 25 minutes and finally had to clear all of the dishes ourselves. The waiter came over and told me he had a bus boy coming over but that never happened. Then comes out the food. I ordered my steak in a very easy way. Cook it for 10 seconds on each side and that's it. Well they did that, but please tell me how there wasn't one bit of blood or juice inside of it. My plate was totally dry after I finished it. I should have been able to soak blood off of my plate with a sponge!!! They brought out bread baskets. Once. Now the bread is at best 2 inches long and less than an inch tall. They never refilled that. After our meal they cut our cake a served it to us. They did this without bussing the table, again. So we got to eat that with all of our dirty dishes on the table. Then comes the bill. They automatically add on 20% for a tip. Then they tax the whole thing after adding the tip. The total was just a tad under $700. For that kind of money I expect full and cold drinks at all times and I expect the bread baskets to never be empty!!!!! And to top it off, our poor waiter also had to take care of tables in the main dining room. He got a $100 tip for never clearing the table and not filling drinks and serving us food that had obviously been frozen and thawed in hot water. Since it was my daughter's party, I kept my cool and just kinda went with it. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! The fact that they only had about 6 tables full on a Saturday night is a pretty good clue to not...
Read moreBricco is a good option for a decent dinner out - it feels a little bit on the nicer side, but it's not necessarily expensive. The atmosphere is bright & casual, with friendly if not always speedy service, & they have a lot of tasty cocktails on the menu, in addition to all their wines & beers.
Their menu features a few quirky options, like risotto balls stuffed with smoked bacon & mozzarella, or bacon-wrapped scallops. And I'm not a spinach girl, but their spinach salad is awesome: baby spinach, butternut squash, dried fruits, pumpkin seeds, white cheddar, & apple cider vinaigrette. There are a ton of pizza & pasta options... something for everyone, basically, & I'm always pleased with the food.
I have generally found the servers here to be extra-nice, but I've had repeated negative interactions with one guy who must be the manager. Once, I called to see if I could make a reservation for the same evening & was told that "That's not how reservations work" because it was the same day (it is in the city I had just moved here from, my bad), & another time, when I went in & asked how long the wait would be, he said, "Whenever a table opens up." Dude, hosts are regularly in the business of estimating wait times, so how about you at least try? More than once, I've seen employees give customers (myself included) a sympathetic or apologetic glance in an attempt to make up for the manager's rudeness.
I feel bad marking down an entire restaurant for one bad manager, but my negative experiences with him have been, as I said, repeated, & it makes me question the place on the whole. Maybe I'll change this review whenever he finally leaves? In the meantime, I'll stick to the...
Read moreGreat food, first and foremost. Very nice atmosphere as well. Feels upscale, but the prices won't break the bank.
The service was okay, at best. It was a Friday night, and noticeably busy, so I guess I'll take that into account. We got sat right away, but we weren't greeted by a server for atleast 5 minutes, which is when we were given water and told about the food specials. She then said she'll give us a few minutes... We weren't offered drinks, so as far as I know, you only serve water. Which I doubt is the case. We only wanted water, so that's not a huge deal--but I want you guys to know about this because drinks are often the most profitable item on the menu.
We were given bread after ordering. There was butter, but we weren't given silverware, so we had to wait 5 minutes to spread our butter. One of the bussers was able to get us silverware.
All-in-all, it was our particular server I wasn't impressed with. She was kind, but didn't seem to realize she was neglecting our table. Again, i could see that she was busy, so I get it.
The food was really good, and because of this I never considered writing off "Bricco" because of the particularly poor server/service.
The food was good (borderline great), I'd recommend to others, and I will probably return.
I could see some servers seemed bored though, while ours was bogged down by tables, so my only suggestion is to pay closer attention to servers'...
