I've lived at the same address/place for 4 years and within the last month or so i've had issues from me receiving other peoples mail daily to my mail/packages going missing. This post office is so unprofessional, you won't get packages. They say they're delivered but never are stories constantly change when it comes to Jonathan Kirby. I've filed numerous complaints and get told "i saw the complaint but theres nothing I can do" why are complaints being escalated to the person they're about. You reach out to consumer affairs and the managers here still won't follow-up on the claim/case. I've gotten the phone hung up on me, papers thrown at me, cops called all for asking where my package is or for asking whats the next steps when packages go missing. They say they tell your Landlord boxes were broken into, but your Landlord says no they didn't to their face and they say "it was someone else I told or I told you a while ago and stopped because it keeps happening so im not reporting it anymore." Every manager/supervisor from Ty, Jonathan Kirby, and even the post master Anthony Fields are all rude. Every time I have a package delivered with instructions to bring to my door since im home or give to my landlord at the front office they don't do it. I've filed multiple claims/cases and the Post Master Anthony told me he saw them, but hes not going to get into that it's the past. Like are you serious. Something is going on with this place. I've even spoke face to face to the carrier and everyone's story changes. It's like if you've reached out to the post office supervisors, consumer affairs, USPS customer service, and the cops what do you do next? I see all these complaints about this office and nothing is being done about it. I had a package say delivered and for a week straight I kept getting told by a supervisor that it was delivered and I need to contact the sender, all because the carrier said he delivered it. Come to find out the next week they had my package Consumer Affairs told them to redeliver again and they still didn't so I had to rush and pick it up 10 min before they closed. I feel i'm being targeted now because they know my name by heart. If your packages go missing your best bet would be to contact CONSUMER AFFAIRS directly and try to atleast start a claim because the POST MASTER and TWO SUPERVISORS at the end of the day will take their carriers word and tell you to contact the cops or theres nothing they can do. So, now I have to probably buy a post box just because of this which is RIDICULOUS. MY LANDLORD CHECKED THE CAMERAS OF MY COMPLEX CHECKED THE CAMERAS WITH ME PRESENT THE TIMES THE CARRIER SUPPOSEDLY SAID THE BOXES WERE BROKEN INTO AND THEY WEREN'T packages just aren't being delivered. They're also being delevered at the wrong apartments, people from other apartments have returned my packages and other tenants packages to my landlord smh
Also, don’t even bother calling consumer affairs for an escalation. I had two sent to Andrea Gungerson and she pretty much told me my situation was not at the top of her priority and Jonathan Kirby throwing a paper at me across the counter is acceptable. Threatened me that if I go in the post office I will have to answer to Anthony Fields since he’s black. And all I kept asking her is why she is not at least apologizing for her teams mess ups and what the process should be moving forward. But, like the rest of her team she hung up once she got defensive and couldn’t answer my questions because she’s never there to begin with. I even picked up a package yesterday the lady Sonia got mad at me because the carrier put the package somewhere and it caused her to have to walk all ove searching. How is that my fault? What I won’t take it threats though I will continue to pick up my packages peacefully and I wish “Tony” would approach me disrespectfully I will have the cops on speed dial. I don’t care what race you are. So, I suggest people find a different post office now I see why this place is horrible look at who their management is the “employee” is always...

Had an urgent shipment, so to save some money I went Priority Mail.
Ship date at the post office counter 10/9/14 from Washington State to Virginia.
Received a call from the receiver today 10/21/14 saying the package was not received. This makes it 12 days since it was sent.
I ran a track and the information blew me away. It left locally and 2 days later arrived back here.
I attempted to contact the local post office, calling them 3 times. Each time the phone was not answered.
I called the 800 number to speak with someone about the package. After many long winded recordings having to do with "guaranteed delivery" and privacy notices, I finally reached someone. She has no other information than I found on my own.
I explained they need to locate the package and send it to the recipient by next day air, at their expense. We all know how the government loves paperwork. She opened a ticket and I was told there would be a response in 24-48 hours. I tried to have her understand that does not good. It was an urgent shipment and to have a call back at that time it pointless.
I went to the local post office where the package was dropped off. Jim said it was not there (without looking on the shelves) and that all their packages are sent to the distribution center. He left for quite some time to make a call. I could her him from down the hall. He
He thinks it was somehow scanned wrong and the package is sitting in the Virginia post office waiting for pickup. I mentioned when I sent the package it was not setup for holding at the post office. Jim had no explanation other than for the receiver to check in Virginia.
Now, I just received a call from USPS. She reviewed these findings. It shows she is calling from a local number here at my location. She checked the shelf (finally someone took the effort) and found it!
She can't send it next day air, even though it is their screw up. She "doesn't have funds to do that". All she can do is send it through 2-day. At least is UPS screws up they would expedite the shipment and get it there the next day.
She thinks the carrier read the address wrong and thought it was coming to me. When asked why I would not have received a call about the shipment being at the post office was because I was not the address shown by TO: Well if that's the case, why wouldn't he have the common sense to realize Virginia is not Washington. She has no idea.
Word to the wise, forget about shipping anything critical with the post office. They just...
Read moreEvery time I go into this place the wait line is long and it goes by very slow. So in order to not deal with the line or employees I decided to pay for my package label through the self help machine in the lobby. A week later I receive my package with a return to sender sticker since I apparently chose the wrong option, my envelope is considered small not large. A simple mistake, I went in there to get answers in order to not have this happen again. I had the lady explain it to me, and I tried explaining to her why I had been confused. Her co-worker next to her decides to interrupt and talk down to me saying I must of not read the screen correctly and how she can go show me, implying I must be too dumb to do it my self. She was extremely rude and had an ugly attitude. I understand my problem must be annoying to her, but in the customer service world that is not how you talk to a customer. I told her I did not need her to show me, I'm the one being inconvenienced in this situation and the last thing I wanted to deal with was a rude employee. She called her supervisor and I gladly spoke with him. I let him know what happened, I informed him: "Just about every where I look online, your location is listed as 1 star, that is the rating your community is rating your business. The rude employee behind the counter is the face of your business and it does not reflect well on the supervisor". I work retail - customer service, even if you have a mean, screaming customer, you always remain composed and try to solve the customer's problem, you are on the customer's side and always on their team, making the customer happy is the goal in the end. What this post office gives is NOT customer service, have some pride in your work ethic. I never had this problem at UPS, I'm going to be looking into somewhere else to take my mail, it is just not worth the headache going in to this place. Leo is the supervisor I talked to, nice friendly guy, didn't have much of a response for me except for "OK, I'll talk to her". Did I believe him? Not really. He needs to grow a backbone and get that place under control, starting with...
