My wife and I stayed in the Oceanside condo unit A1 for five nights and four days starting Saturday, 8/23/25, after Hurricane Erin passed by offshore. We loved having a sliding glass door that opened to a very small deck that overlooked the beach and ocean. We loved hearing the ocean and seeing the early morning and late evening beach. We loved that the condo was huge inside with two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large, well-equipped kitchen with bar counter, a dining room with table and chairs and a complete living room. Both the master bedroom and living room had wall-mounted flat screen cable TVs and the living room had a CD stereo. We liked having a deck-side elevator for lifting our suitcases. We loved the pool which was large and clean and had a good depth, ranging from about three to five feet. The pool area had a privacy fence around it, plenty of deck furniture and adjustable umbrellas and a clean bathroom. The complex sits comfortably away from the beach road and seems almost park-like with fenced-in cactus garden, pool, children play and outdoor grilling areas and pine tree areas. We liked having free access to the laundry room's three washing and drying machines. We liked the resort's boardwalk-like direct access to the beach and outside showers. We also liked the fact that the management company, Kees, had an on-site office that was open every day except weekends. We also liked the fact that we could see that the property was being maintained by groundskeepers and painters during our stay. Now, I'll mention what could have been better. The biggest issue was interior cleanliness. When we first entered, the coffee maker still had the previous renter's grounds in it. The kitchen stove and floor had a slight greasiness to them. There were some ants around the kitchen counter and bar areas. The master bathroom's A/C vent had a black, mold-like, stain around it, although the vent itself had been newly replaced. Also, the middle of the three washing machines needed repair. Lastly, the master bedroom bed could have been more comfortable and there was a softball-sized stain on the carpet. Also, the rental included access to the Outer Banks Sports Club !!! This was wonderful !!! I got to have a workout at a clean, modern gym while my wife got to go shopping !!! To summarize, while the condo wasn't perfect, the good far outweighed the bad and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In fact, we felt like we could have lived there after we did our own initial cleaning. Oh, also, if we ever go to the Outer Banks during hurricane season again, we'll be sure to get hurricane...
Read moreWe stayed in unit C3, it was not good. The condo is very old, with a rusty odor, and dirty. The furniture was very outdated. The kitchen was old and not well equipped, dirty dinnerware, utensils, even some of the silverware was rusty and smelled bad. If you think you can cook a meal for your family, forget it! The beds in the two bedrooms were hard and uncomfortable, we woke up with backaches every day. Although this condo has two bathrooms, both of them were gross. The shower curtains were slimy and have mold. Showering in those bathrooms was disgusting. At two different times, we saw what the locals call “water bugs” in the living room, they are about 2.5 in, they came from a hole near the door balcony, those bugs scared the heck out of us. Unacceptable. There is only one elevator in this property and it’s located in the complete opposite site to where we were staying. The elevator is old and slow. Many times we chose to take the stairs, about six flats of them, and carrying all that beach stuff, it was not an easy task. Again, unacceptable. At night time, it’s very dark in the building, the lights are very dim. The only new thing in this condo appears to be the carpet in the bedrooms. The only positive thing about this property, it’s the location, being very close to the beach. Other than that, this place is definitely not worth the money we paid for it. A serious renovation would not...
Read moreCan’t beat the beach access. It’s on the beach but not all the units are beach front. Ours was a beach view. A couple of things that keep it from getting four or five stars. Access to the unit is through the master bedroom. Kinda weird but the door opens into it. The sliding door does not slide, needs new wheels I am sure. The bedroom is right by the stairs and the luggage lift. Kids kept running up and down the stairs yelling and playing with the lift which makes quite a bit of noise when your trying to sleep. If you book here just make sure you are sure of your room location and access...
