Gyro Stop — Restaurant in Killeen

A true diamond in the rough! Stopped in here after a long day at work, just an hour before closing. I Was delightfully greeted by whom I perceived to be the owner. Upon completing my order My food was brought to my table. I ordered a traditional Gyro sandwich with feta which by the way was old world style feta and not the crumbled, Six Falafel and an appetizer of hummus. Being from NYC I honestly admit this food was by far the best I have ever had. Additionally, I ordered a second Gyro with the expectations of taking it home with me. A hole the wall. Those usually have some the best food and this place did not disappoint. Older Greek gentleman behind the counter taking orders and Manning the grill. Had a Gyro for my first time there and it was fantastic. Spiced just right, not over cooked, and fresh pita. Next time I will get the platter with just meat and pita no fries. Don't get me wrong the fries are fresh and tasty. But it has been a very long time since the last great Hole in the wall Greek place found closed it's doors. I will be returning and not just for the platter but some of the other offerings as well such as a cheese steak sandwich. This is by very very far "BEST" of the "BEST" GREEK FOOD in ALL of Killeen, Texas both hands down period!!!!!!!! One must taste all the very fresh very delicious specialty plates that Sammy the owner has to offer and within Very Big portions too!!! We ALWAYS eat there from around the very corner of our own house 🏡. We and allot of other people and close friends always mention it saying, "Hey y'all " let's go to Sammy's!!!!
