Easily the best place to go for anything snow sport related. Whether your getting new gear or rentals this is by far the best place to go in Killington. The customer service, expertise, prices and employees are all the reasons why.. I came up for a weekend trip, packed all my gear except forgot my boots. I was pissed but ended up going to Black Dog Sports on local recommendation (super convenient right next to Ramshed entrance) they checked my skis out saw I had a broken binding, probably saving me from breaking a leg. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the part to fix it and saw I was pretty bummed about my performance skis being broken. So, they hooked me up with boots and a set of Atomic Demo skis for the day!! They didn’t have to do this at all but went above and beyond. Can’t wait for the season next year so I can come back and buy my next set of skis and boots from here. Great prices on everything and willing to cut deals if your getting a few things. No one does that up here! These guys know what they’re talking about and will set you up with everything your looking for. Everyone in Black Dog truly just wants you to have good time on the mountain and enjoy the snow. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, 5 stars! Thank you...
Read moreNice people, great rental rates but can be slow! I checked all the rental shops on the internet ahead of time. I chose Black Dog Sports for its great rental rates plus its location. Only $50 for 2 days is a bargain (March 2017)! Killington wanted over $80 so I saved $60 for the 2 of us and the store is directly next to the Killington Resort's SnowShed Base Lodge so its super convenient. You can technically walk to the lift if you want to, about 8 minutes.
Its a smaller shop but the staff was very nice and very helpful. Nonetheless it took over 45 minutes to get a pair of skis and a snowboard. There were only 3 groups of customers renting so it should have been faster. We were happy with the rentals and easy to return since near the lodge. The equipment was in perfect shape even though it was March. Keep in mind they don't rent snowboard helmets but are happy to sell you one for about $60.
Would I rent/shop here again? Yes! But I would give myself more time to go through the rental process. Actually, Dave got our rentals quickly it was the time at the register that...
Read moreThese guys are the best! I've rented from them multiple times and the are always fast and friendly. Someone even took my skis by accident so I took the ones they left from here and was and to get another set of rentals without any issues. Another time I wanted to switch ski length and they swapped me out without issues and again, quick service.
EDIT: After my 3rd time renting from here, unfortunately it will be my last. I understand you can't control the weather but the mtn didn't open lifts until 11am and some at 1pm, I called at 11:15a to ask if I could turn in my 2day rental and use the 2nd day the following day bc of the lifts and the sideways rain. I was told no it's after 11 not 9, I asked if they knew the lifts weren't open until 11. No understanding on the situation but I get it, small seasonal business, just would've thought they would be more understanding. $25 for the 3rd day, ontop of the $70, of which I also told them I'm only renting until noon bc we had to head back to NJ. Probably best to consider one day rentals multiple times if the weather...
