I've been skiing for over thirty years, and I've struggled with foot pain for that entire time. I've had three pairs of custom fit boots, and while each time was better than the last, there was always a great deal of pain, especially at the start of the first season.
Usually for the first 6 to 10 days of the season, I'm doing one or two runs and then going to the lodge to take my boots off for half an hour to let my feet recover. And then I'm calling it a day after 5-8 runs. It's not till later in the season that I can ski a reasonably full day. It was at the point, where I was questioning why I continued skiing and was considering giving it up.
Every time I've gotten boots fit, it has involved many days of painful skiing and numerous trips back to the fitters to tweak this part and grind that part and then at the end, I still have pain and discomfort that I have to "accept".
I had considered Surefoot 6 years ago when I got my last pair of boots, but was dissuaded by a lot of negative opinions on various skiing forums. Let me tell you, I wish I had ignored them.
When Surefoot says that you will leave the shop and start skiing pain free, they really mean it. I got to the slopes the morning after buying the boots, for my first day of the season, and I buckled up and skied all day, without having to loosen or remove my boots. This has never happened to me before. This is a revelation. I've put a few more days on and they're still great. I'm more excited for skiing this season than I've been in a...
Read moreSurefoot is the real deal. Ignore any negative reviews, because the reviewers are trolls who probably hate skiing in the first place. I'm a lifelong skier who has suffered for too many years because I thought I couldn't afford to get proper fitting ski boots. Here is a breakdown of the process:
Get your foot scanned (the system produces a 3D model of your foot)
Put your feet on a pressure plate that uses a proprietary technology to measure your arch, heal, toes etc.
Surefoot pros create a custom insole orthotic.
They use the measurements from step 1 and 2 to pick our the right shell (yes this makes a big difference)
They then use memory foam inside their custom liner (this is where the magic happens). The foam starts as a liquid and then expands around your foot and starts to solidify (think of when you get your blood pressure taken, it's a similar feeling).
Surefoot pros work their magic and get everything finalized so you can walk out the door with the best fitting ski boot you've ever had.
Oh, and you can stop by any surefoot location to make adjustments as needed.
Why spend $800 on boots that are generic and not made for YOUR feet? Spend $1500 and get a proper fitting boot that will last you...
Read moreUpdate: We finally went to go get my daughters boots fitted correctly. It's a 3 1/2 hour drive but I worked with their headquarters and they arranged to have a knowledgeable associate in their Killington VT store help us. Spent another $400ish so all in about $1,200 but they provided a larger shell and did the injected liner. She is happy with the fit and no breakin was required. Not cheap but they provided a comfortable boot which is what I paid for.
This is the biggest scam ever!!! I want you out of business. We went to Beaver Creek CO and my daughter said her $350 boot was uncomfortable. They measured and did all their scam crap and put a boot on her that was two sizes too small. I didn’t pay attention figuring $800 would solve the problem. She hasn’t skied since we did that in 2021. I thought she was just whining but watched her trying to put on the boot today three years later and not even close. She rented boots which were 2” longer and had a great day. To get them changed I have to NYC. I lost three years of skiing with my daughter. I want you...
