I love this little store, it is packed full of specialty Persian and “middle eastern” products like in every nook and cranny. Some things that I like to buy here include: rose & orange blossom water, saffron, smoked basmati rice, slivered pistachios, dried culinary roses, sumac, shredded halva/Turkish cotton candy, sugar cubes, baklava, zatar seasoning, salty yogurt drinks, etc. The spice selection is phenomenal, as is the rice selection. I love the convenient location in Kirkland, I don’t have to trek to Bellevue or even Seattle. There is even a Persian bakery and an Eastern European/Russian grocery store in the same shopping center, so you can make an afternoon of it. The only disappointing thing is that more non-Persians like myself don’t know about this hidden gem! I’m not sure why people are saying that the man who runs the store is rude. He has always been exceptionally kind to me. His English is slightly limited, but he still manages to attempt a conversation with me every time I shop in his store. He’s genuinely a sweet older gentleman. Perhaps he suffers from a little bit of RBF and his voice comes out a wee bit gruff, but here’s a hot tip: don’t judge a book by its cover and try being nice to more people in public spaces and you’ll be surprised at how well they...
Read moreToday was the first and LAST time I will ever step foot in this store. I agree 100% with any other review that notes the owner is rude. In addition to that, the owner had stepped to the back of the store and did not bother coming to the cash registry despite a line up. We waited at least 10 minute until a customer went to the back and asked the owner to come to the cash registry as there was a line up. I was buying an item that was labled $8.99 but when it came to my time to pay the owner just looked at the item (did not scan or anything) and said $10. Now $1 ripp off doesn't break the bank but as a matter of principle I do not expect to pay extra for an item that is labled differently. Not only that, he had the odacity to joke when we gave him a $20 bill and asked not to give us back the $10 difference. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! NEVER returning back to this business. You may have gained an extra $1 today but you lost a...
Read moreDON’T SHOP HERE!!! Look elsewhere for your Persian/ middle eastern ingredients. They are beyond rude and I have never been treated so poorly in my life! I was simply asking for help and clarification on items to be yelled at and shooed out of the store?! With everything going on in 2020, customer service and being kind to people should be a top priority to keep your customers coming back. Apparently this small business isn’t suffering by the lack of human decency to treat people with respect and not discriminate. I will not be returning. Everything was overpriced to begin with. Seems to me after seeing other people’s reviews I’m not the first and likely...
