I’ve been a loyal Target shopper for years, especially because of the Cat & Jack 1-year satisfaction guarantee policy. Today, however, I had a frustrating experience at Target’s hunters creek location (2155 Town Center Blvd, Orlando FL 32827) around 5:20 PM when attempting to return gently used items under this policy.
A customer service representative informed me that the policy had changed a month ago and that returns for used items were no longer accepted. When I asked to speak to a manager, the customer service representative seemed visibly upset when I asked to speak to a manager after being told that returns for used items were no longer accepted. This made an already awkward situation worse and felt unnecessarily confrontational.
When the manager, Elicia, arrived, she reiterated that the policy had changed a month ago but also added, "People were taking advantage of the policy by returning clothes with holes or dirty sneakers." While I understand the need to adjust policies, her comment made me feel like I was being accused of doing the same, despite my items being gently used and in great condition.
Additionally, the Cat & Jack return policy is still listed as active on Target’s website, which was misleading and inconvenient. Leaving the store with no resolution and feeling embarrassed was a disappointing experience, especially after relying on this policy for years.
I later called Guest Relations, but no compensation or immediate resolution was offered for the inconvenience caused by the miscommunication. I hope Target better trains employees to handle these situations respectfully and updates their website promptly to reflect any policy changes.
I remain a fan of Target’s products and overall shopping experience but feel this situation could have been handled...

I purchased a Target "Embark Air Mattress" a few months ago (I didn't realize it was their brand at the time).
The Mattress is tremendously defective and started leaking in several places after only a few months of use. Clearly a manufacturing issue. I spoke to customer service for the mattress and they said I would be able to return it for a store credit, full refund or exchange it at any local Target. I explained I wouldn't want to exchange it since it seemed to be a manufacturing issue and not an isolated problem and they said that was OK, that I could just get a store credit or refund on my cc instead.
So, I went to the store to return the mattress. They said they couldn't do that. I said I would be fine with store credit. They said they couldn't do that either. I said, "OK, exchange it". They said they couldn't do that either because the price had gone down since I purchased it and they would not be able to give me the price difference. Their conclusion was that my only option was to find another (more expensive) air mattress and pay them the difference. Seriously, Target?
This product is supposed to have a 1 year warranty. At the very least, Target should honor that. After a few more calls to customer service and after speaking with the manager a few times, I finally managed to "convince" them to exchange the mattress at the same price we paid. They explained how they would open this incredible exception for us as if they were doing us a tremendous favor. This product is in warranty, it is defective, I had to argue with them just to get the same crappy mattress again!
Really looking forward to having the same problems with the mattress a few months from now.
Definitely do not buy this mattress or anything under the...
Read moreDiana the cashier super rude. I walked into target today to pick up an online order of pampers and wipes. I went in I did a little shopping as 98 percent would do if entered in a target for any reason. I approach the register and is assisting someone in a friendly manner without a negative tone she finished said how are you I said I’m great I still had items left in my cart(items that were paid for and picked up via target app/ guest svc She asked two separate orders I said no ma’am this is done As I pushed the cart through she says okay I get my cartwheel together for her to scan she refuses to scan and asks me again if I want the stuff in my cart I reply ma’am you asked me twice and I told you this was done she raised her tone in a disgusting manner as if she’s the authority and said no no no I didn’t hear you! You did not say anything! So which one is it you didn’t hear or I didn’t say it. I said ma’am I’m not stealing diapers and you asked me twice now I understand the miscommunication but if I said it twice and she didn’t hear she shouldn’t asks me 5-10 times more! target has security and can check surveillance for any theft what upset me was her tone she is wrong and strong she may be someone’s mother but she isn’t mine. She needs to be retrained this may be her retirement job but she is definitely not the best part of target to de escalate I removed myself being unable to get my 20 percent off my socks for my son I purchased and unable to scan my cartwheel thanks for the wonderful experience #dirtydiana...
