Five Star Nail Salon — Local services in Kissimmee

I made an appointment with Kevin a week in advance and wasn’t seen until two hours after I came in. I wanted a simple gel mani with minimal design, no nail extensions. He didn’t do any sort of nail maintenance (cuticle care, shaping, etc.) before applying polish and my nails look like an elementary school version of the design I asked for. He spent less than 20 minutes on me. Right before getting started, a woman came up to him and said, “But I said I was next!” and he told her not to worry, that I would be a quick gel mani. She sat down right behind him to wait. All his other work looks great and he did a wonderful job on the woman before me, but he sped through my mani. He did prime my nails with a nail drill, at times taking it up too far which hurt the skin above my nails. And that was it. Long wait time with a standing appointment for a poor job. The end result is something I could have done myself at home. I’m disappointed because I was excited to try this place after all the great reviews. Maybe it was because I didn’t ask for a complicated acrylic/dip coffin shape design (pricey) and/or I wasn’t a repeat customer. Side note - this is not a clean salon. He had initially asked me to extend my hand over the same towel he had put in place for the woman before me, her nail dust and whatnot was all over the place. I at least asked him to change that. I came here because I saw great photos of their work and I was convinced. My first mistake was not to read through the comments. My second mistake was not to make an appointment. My third mistake was wanting to get a design with dip manicure. I quickly realized my tech was not going to be the best when she started asking around and reading the items she needed for a dip manicure. I ended up just getting my old dip removed and walking out. So if you decide to come beware: this is not a clean salon. They sanitize their equipment with a mist of alcohol. The lady that helped me had the old towel from the previous client… This was the first time some hurts me with the drill. I had a jerk reaction and the tech said “oh you are okay, no blood”…. after seeing how forceful she was being my hands I decided not to get anything else done. I asked for clear coat and she first used a pink clear and I then said I didn’t want that… that I only wanted clear… so then she gave me a coat of clear. The place is also very unorganized and messy. Hello , I have been going to this nail salon for a year now. Out of everyone who works there , there is only one worker who is very nice who always does the pedicure. But the owners they are very rude! They are always expecting a tip and if you don’t give them a tip they remind you to give them one before you leave or they will give you attitude. But of course giving a tip is out of ones generosity. Today I was there with my daughter and it was going to be her first time getting her eyebrows done. I was telling the lady who is the owner right after she did my daughters eyebrows that the eyebrows weren’t even. She then looks at me and says “If you don’t know don’t talk! You talk to much.” As soon as I walked into the salon she started giving me attitude. I was going to get my nails done today and i went to ask her what are the prices cause maybe on the weekdays it’s different. She then proceeds to laugh at me and never answers my question.
