I really use to like shopping at meijers but you need more respectful and less aggressive employees. I was there with my boyfriend at the self check out by the grocery door. (Around 11:45 to 11:59 pm) We weren't even half way done scanning our groceries before the self checkout clerk ran over there and MADE sure we scanned the milk and put a paid for sticker on it. My boyfriend felt weird about it and asked if she thought we were going to steal the milk and she had no response. After he scanned all the other items she kept breathing down our necks while we were paying for my items. She was making him and myself pretty nervous and it was so distracting that I swiped it the wrong way and when I did do it I put in the pin for another card. She verbalized how to put the card in the correct way since she was so close she was able to notice. I just never have been treated like this and it seemed like she so badly wanted to catch us stealing. I know its her job but I believe she wasnt being very discreet nor kind about it at all. She was being very cocky and got my social anxiety going in the red. I felt like we were being sterotyped because of the race of my boyfriend. She was busy staring off in the distance and not paying attention to having laser focus towards us. I was very upset and feeling targeted for no reason other than profiling so I went in a second time to buy another item and hopefully be able to see her name tag. There wasnt any name tag I could see. She was a skinny white girl with dark hair and a pony tail. After I came in the second time she kept asking me if something was wrong. I didn't say anything because I didn't want an argument. She could see I was flustered and kept enaging with me verbally. I trully feel like she was trying to get me even more angry so I would escalate and get in trouble. I didn't though and just bought my reeses and left. I just wanted there to be some sort of accountablity and thats why I'm making this review. I understand somethings are policy due to lost prevention but i believe they should do it discreetly and not make people feel like a criminal for no reason. I have never stolen a thing in my life and it made me feel worthless. I just want to be treated with respect. In all my twenty six years I was never made to feel this way due to the actions of store staff. Just Please teach your staff to be more respectful because it can really hurt...
Read moreI would give this Meijers a zero plus plus plus plus plus because it has absolutely no customer service they have no Amigos that are up and operational for anybody that is handicapped!!!! I went in today only being 3 days out of the hospital from having neck surgery needed an Amigo none of them were working!! When we asked the staff member who was standing at the doorway if there where any others she told us that we would have to go to the other side of the store!! In response to this my daughter asked really? The staff member looked at my daughter and myself and replied "really" now that's not very professional!!!! If you need an Amigo that usually means that you have a reason for not being able to walk long distances.... while standing there waiting for my daughter to go get an Amigo my pain worsened due to the standing which I am not supposed to be doing in long durations, she found none to be there on the other side of the store go figure!! She asked for a manager she was told there were none working I call BS on that one. The only person that was of assistance to us was a TL by the name of Alvin who went to investigate why there were no Amigos up and running and to find one that was operational enough for me to use to get out of the store I thank Alvin very much for his courtesy, his assistance and finding out what in the Sam Dickens was going on!!!! On the way out of the store some huge staff member walked in front of my amigo while I was moving forward and stopped causing me to come to an abrupt stop causing my neck to rock forward and backwards which was extremely painful for me, she had nothing to say not an excuse me not I am sorry or anything. This Meijers is a shame a shame I say to the Meijer's...
