A week ago I went In and bought a ps2 controller. They only sell one, very badly made controller. No OEM or decent third party. When I got home with this controller, it didn’t work at all. I was playing Socom 3 and when you try and walk while moving the aim button, it would stop entirely. I went back and exchanged it for another. (I live in league city so it’s not just down the road) then I get that controller, come back home, surprise it’s the same issue. I go back at 11 (the time the store opens) waited till 11:30 and left. I called up there around 12:30 and talked to the younger blonde guy, and he said well if you just waited 5 more minuets I would have been there. So I drive back up there, and told them it wasn’t working, the guy blonde hair guy tried to test it on a fighting game, then another fighting game, and then some weird shooter game, when I said try it on Socom and you’d see what I’m talking about. Then he said” it’s probably just your PlayStation.” “There’s nothing wrong with it” but all my other controllers work just fine. But then I got credit for it, and he didn’t even check the disk I got credit for, and there are chunks out of the corners of the disk. The blonde hair kid has no right working in a customer service based establishment with his condescending attitude and needless to say, I will not...
Read moreMy first visit here I was completely blown away by the sheer volume of their stock. Every wall was completely lined with row after row of "Good" to "Very Good" condition copies of nearly any and every game you can imagine. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. If you asked about a particular game you were looking for they would turn over the entire store to see if they had a copy on hand for you to check out.
Most retro game stores you're lucky either if you find one with reasonable prices or one with a good stock to sort through, but Game Bros. has both in spades. It was almost overwhelming to peruse through their entire store. Several times I had to stop myself from getting carried away with my purchase, because I was finding title after title that I had been hunting for but no other store had ever carried.
Add to all of this the fact that they offer a rewards program and promotional discounts and you've got what is quite possibly one of the best retro game stores in the state. I will most definitely be returning in the future when I'm once again on the hunt to expand my collection, and when my wallet has fattened up a...
