My girl friend has asked me to help her boyfriend shop for a ring when the time is right. We met at a Clayton Jewelers to get her finger sized and look at a few potential rings. I love to help local businesses when I can. We were the only customers in Clayton Jewelers and were not even greeted when we came in. The guy hovered over us for a few minutes until I told him what we were looking at. When I asked to get her finger sized he said he wouldn't do it unless we bought a ring there. I asked to just get an idea not a specific number and he again stated he wouldn't do it because each ring is different. He said he has done this before and gotten bad reviews -- SO instead, your still getting a bad review AND your not getting our business. Instead of offering to try on a few rings and write the ring/size so I could bring the boyfriend back and already have the ring and the size, now Clayton Jewelers lost a potential sale. They didn't give me a card, they didn't write down the rings we were looking at, they didn't size her finger based on the few rings she did like and they lost not 1 but 3 customers. If I would have been alone I'd have left immediately but I stayed to try to salvage my girl friends first experience looking at rings and try to make it a good experience. Once in a life time experience as she has never looked at engagement rings before - at no thanks to Clayton Jewelers she had a good day and I will be doing business elsewhere, hopefully those reading this will...
Read moreBrought my platinum engagement ring to be resized and they seemed fairly confident in doing this. The day I got it back I thought the design had a crack in it because a curve in it extended into a distinct line, I thought I must have been overanalyzing even though I was sure it wasn't there before. A month later my ring fell off because I needed it smaller with how the top ended up not being completely circular so I started wearing it on my other ring finger because I didn't trust taking it to another jeweler. Then a few months later the main diamond became loose (platinum as a metal doesn't allow this so setting must have been reset loose on a side/sides and allowed the diamond to turn to become loose). Now that I found another jeweler I feel I can trust to resize it smaller they confirmed it was an obvious crack that had to have happened during resizing and I will need to pay extra to get platinum added to that area and reshaped into the design for this resizing. I wasted money here and damaged my ring some in...
Read moreClayton Jeweler's was referred to Lisa & I from a friend of ours and they exceeded all expectations. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and responsive to all needs. I had no experience buying jewelry prior to the engagement and they were helpful in showing us the many options available to us. We have already recommended their services to others and already gone back to buy other pieces of jewelry since the engagement. Highly recommend giving them a shot to earn...
