Stopped in on a Wednesday during the day time to avoid the crowds. We were greeted immediately our server, who stayed with through the meal. She was kind, curious, and answered any questions that we had. She was great.
We wanted to try a few different things so we got a Fried Calamri as an app, some pieces of Sushi and the main reason we were in there, the Yakiniku. The Fried Calamari was great, but wish there were some tentacles that went with the rings. The Sushi was great. Very comparable in both price and quality to the other places in town.
The main star was the Yakiniku. We ordered the Pork Belly and the Beef Brisket for our meats. We then got some mushrooms and the BBQ Wrapping Combo to round out the meal. The quality of all of our ingredients was top notch. The grill was great and easy to use. I was able to cook most items to perfection, outside of the Beef Brisket, was more my fault than anything leaving them on about 10 seconds too long. Due to the quality of the meat, it was still very tasty.
One thing I didn't like so much, and the reason that I am listing this one as 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. For the price that was charged, I was hoping for just that much more from a quantity perspective. You get about 10ish slices of meat for the two types that I got. I would have liked to see perhaps 15% more and it would have struck the right value in my opinion.
All in all, it was a very tasty meal with great service, but a bit pricey for the Yakiniku. The app and sushi were ok price wise. Would go back for special occasions and if I'm in the mood...
Read moreMy husband and I visit here on a semi-regular basis. It is definitely a treat for us and we are blessed to have the means to go. For starters, the food is delicious. Everything is prepared fresh (and tastes that way, too). We've had several different items on the menu: tartar, sushi, sashimi, hibachi, yakunuki, udon, etc. Every item has come out delicious! Also, they do accommodate for those who are gluten free (I have celiac disease and they are great about working around that). The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is always clean. Finally, what makes the whole experience is the friendly wait staff. Everyone is incredibly nice and polite. The last few times we have gone, we have had an excellent waitress named Gina. She is so sweet and friendly and makes you feel truly at home.
We also went this past Saturday and I've never seen it so busy. Despite this, we had people checking in on us all night, making sure everything was okay and all was well. I was very grateful and thankful for the kindness, care and attention they showed.
If you are a lover of Asian cuisine, I highly recommend. The price point it a little high, but for fresh food (and might I add a large quantity, too), it is...
Read moreMy wife and I planned to go here for our 31st anniversary. I was excited to go because the reviews looked good, and the food looked good. I almost felt guilty leaving my kids behind to have one night out with my wife. We arrived after making reservations, and we were seated promptly. I informed the host that it was my wife and I’s anniversary, and he coldly shrugged his shoulders and said “oh well “as if it would have no benefit to our experience. The place was empty, despite the fact it was dinner time, 6:30 PM on a Thursday. The very first thing that had greeted us besides the host, was the obnoxious odor that filled the entire building. It smelled very strongly like an open sewer, and I quickly lost my appetite. It still took about 10 minutes before a server came and asked us how we were doing, and at that point I had to tell her that we were not doing so good because the awful odor that was filling the place. She looked surprised and asked us, “does it smell bad?, I don’t smell anything, sometimes I smell it, but sometimes I don’t”. We both politely excuse ourselves and we left. I can’t say anything about the food because we left before we had...
