I adore this place. My husband and I went in here for the first time back in October after we had spent the day antique shopping. I wanted to stop in to take a peek and see what they had. Needless to say I fell in love. They have the most unique and beautiful selection of clothing, crafts, and items for the home. Every time I have been in the store, the staff is so kind and helpful. The atmosphere makes you want to look around and shop forever, kind of like Target, but on a fancier level. Tonight I went back to Due South as I was in three weeks ago and found a sweater I loved but didn't purchase it, as I should have because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was the only guest in the store as it was near closing time, however, I never felt pressured to hurry up or make a decision and leave so they could close the store. The gal working was so kind and had started a conversation with me as if we had met before. It was refreshing to go into a business and experience such a level of compassion and care. I feel that in these times so many have become crippled and sterile from the impact of the pandemic. Experiencing human connection is vital to our survival and the state of our mental health. It was so nice to be able to have a conversation with a complete stranger and connect on a genuine level and feel comfortable shopping. Thank you for your exemplary customer service and an amazing place to do some...
Read moreAn incredibly high-potential space and high-potential concept to fall so terribly far in its delivery. (Precursor, it's been a couple years give or take since this experience but dang it's important to me, even now) I...brought my mom in to show her what grand things a great and tiny town like Lafayette could offer and wow...in the worst possible way 'WOW'. We had an early lunch down the street and figured a quick shopping stop might cap that off nicely and we went by the store. We were in the shop, empty except for myself, my mom, some middle-aged woman (not actively buying anything), and the shopkeeper for 20 minutes. My mom and I wandered around, looking at the very expensive chachkies, likely wanting to buy something for a relative we didn't know too well, and never once got a single acknowledgement, nod of the head, or even a glance, from the shopkeeper/cashier attendant person. She was too intent on the single other visitor to notice us in the very small space and wouldn't even look at us. We left and I cannot highly enough recommend that anyone avoid this shop. I'm so disappointed in small-town businesses like this and can only hope they care more about any guest they might encounter. Just please be...
Read moreMixed experiences here. I love the coffee shop and I really love being able to grab a coffee or pastry before or after shopping. I also really like the vibe of the Cafe and the shop. It's like a mini anthropology and they have some cool stuff, although a tad pricey. My issue was I had purchased a necklace that stated on the card it came with that is was 14" in length. When I got home and put it on it was longer than I usually prefer so I measured and it was 16". I emailed the customer service email on the website saying what happened and asking if there were any 14" necklaces in stock that I could exchange mine for? The person replied and said that I was free to come and check myself and I could exchange if so. Well I had a newborn and a toddler at the time so that wasn't quite working for me and it would have been helpful for the person that I believe worked in the shop to check for me. I haven't been back since which is unfortunate. Doesn't sound like a great big deal but at the time it put a bad taste...
