It's sad when the location can ruin the experience!
We recently went to hear a local artist and during / after the performance a lot of people were talking about was how unbelievably uncomfortable it was, and not about the actual artist.
It was only 74 degrees outside and the sun was down, but the inside temperature must have been at least 80+ degrees, people asked about the Air Conditioning and were told it was cranked, amazingly you could not feel any air coming from the ducts? How bad would it be during the day when the sun is out and outside temperature is in in the high 90's+ ?
If the temperature was not bad enough, the chairs were terribly uncomfortable. I wonder if the people that purchased these chairs Googled "uncomfortable wooden chairs with cheap padding" and they ordered the first ones that came up. I found myself having to change seating positions every 5-10 minutes.

Read moreThe Muse Performance Space is a true gem in Lafayette! I am editing a review from 3 years ago. I have now been going to shows at The Muse for 4 years now and it is a great experiance every time! It is owned by 2 great local players Pete Lewis and Claire Church and when they play it is always magical. Most shows at the Muse start at 7 pm and costs $20. People are encouraged to stop by local restaurants and bring dinner to the show. Doors open at 6:30 which gives me 30 minutes for dinner before the music starts. The Muse seats 50 or more and the sounds is spectacular. The Muse was a part of the 2022 Lafayette Music Fest and they had some spectacular music, I look forward to the...
Read moreI've been to about 10 shows here over 5 years- sometimes on date night w wife, sometimes with our kids (16 and 22), sometimes w friends, sometimes just solo. I've never been disappointed by an act- the performance quality has run between quite good to knock-out OMG great. It is an exceptional resource for an inexpensive relaxing night out for fans, and an opportunity to play to a receptive audience for all the great musicians I keep learning about in our community. The "vibe" is accepting, friendly and down to earth- serious about the music, but not showing off or stuffy. Basic beer, wine and seltzers are available, but it is not a bar scene at all. It's just all...
