I’m bummed to give this place two stars because the food is decent as far as Colorado Italian food goes, but I’ve just had too many disappointing and inconsistent experiences here that I don’t think I’ll be going back for awhile. I will first say that beware because the website says they are open till 9, but in reality, the bar is open till 9 but they stop serving food at 8:30 PM every night since the kitchen closes at 8:30 PM. They really should put this on their website so everyone knows that. Even though I called about 8:25 PM on a Monday to get a happy hour pizza after working long hours, I was told the kitchen was closed. I said doesn’t it close at 8:30? And the host said yes. I mentioned it wasn’t 8:30 yet and it was an awkward silence. I ended up calling back to talk to the manager and she mentioned the bar is open till 9 but they stop serving food at 8:30 PM because the kitchen closes then. Even though I mentioned I called a few minutes before 8:30. At that point she reluctantly said she would take an order, quasi rudely, but I felt super awkward and decided to spend my money else where. I mentioned they should update their website to reflect this because it’s misleading. She then got snippy and rude, and I just hung up and called Mici’s for a pizza. I wasn’t mad. I’m just not into going to listen to someone whose job it is to provide customer service be rude. Especially at a supposedly fine dining restaurant. Like, this isn’t Wendy’s. Only issue I really have is I can’t imagine they would turn away customers who walk in past 8:30 PM and tell them the kitchen is closed. Seems odd they would do that and lose money. I guess while I’m ranting, 😂, everyone is saying how hard it is in the restaurant industry these days, but it must not be for Bucatino because they can afford to turn customers away. It’s really sad because I’m a creature of habit and probably would have been a regular Monday pizza and appetizer take out customer. ***I really try to give everyone five stars on my yelp reviews because I know reviews are subjective to a degree and experiences can change with each dining experience. I’ve had several issues here and that’s the reason for a lower review*** To quote Gremlins the Movie: “Whatever you do. No matter how hungry you are. Don’t go to Bucatino’s after 8:30 PM at night expecting to get food because you’ll be denied and turned away. Leaving you hungrier than a gremlin!” That might not be a word for word quote.

My wife and I went here for dinner and we were seated at a two top table which a bit small by the kitchen. After about 15 minutes of waiting for a server, we had to ask for one even though we were seated by one of the order stations and three servers were having a conversation oblivious to our presence and no one seemed to care that we were there. We started with the calamari and the muscles off the early bird special menu and they were okay. There wasn't much room on the table for the appetizers and the bread as the two top was a bit small. My wife had a glass of the house red wine which was excellent And well priced. My wife had Bolenese with a ribbon pasta which was excellent and I had the bucatini with pancetta it was good as well. This restaurant could benefit from a busboy to clear the dishes before the food comes out as there was no place to put anything. Our runner had to struggle with where to place the food because no one had cleared our appetizers at that point. The food was timely and hot however. My wife tried to modify her potatoes that came with her original selection and they told us there would be up charge so she elected to choose something else. I don't think that's a good idea most the Italian restaurants are willing to do this without the upcharge. Overall however this restaurant was a well priced, tasteful place and it's just suffering from the initial Growing Pains when a business opens and they're still training their staff. We will go back and look forward to the next time but probably not for a couple of weeks or so. I can say that for some place in Lafayette they're very few Italian restaurants up this caliber and we were impressed with the food.

Oh boy, I don't enjoy having to leave bad reviews, but my goodness this was not good.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We ended up sitting outside, because the weather was finally cool enough and the inside dining was fairly busy. I'm not sure if the outside dining area is frequently neglected, or if it may have just been this day specifically. Once we were finally helped to place an order, we had also had decided on an appetizer. The app was not great... soggy bruschetta that was like someone dumped water all over it. The bread was literally disintegrating it was so wet. Then, we pushed it aside LONG before the meal showed up. Once entrees did finally arrive, nobody was willing to help clear off the empty plates and clutter from the appetizer and bread bowl on our teeny, tiny outside table. One bite into the meal, I realized that my food was cold. Like... COLD COLD. We waited for maybe 10-15 minutes for our (nonexistent) server to stop by and check how things were (as is usually customary in any restaurant), but after realizing we were fully on our own I had just come to the conclusion that maybe the entree I ordered was intended to be served cold?? I choked half of it down, but it was just not enjoyable eating cold marinara. Once we had finished eating, we continued to wait for another maybe 10-15 minutes after pushing our plates aside. Eventually, when the server finally realized that we still existed and asked how everything was, I responded by saying that I wished I had ordered something different, as I didn't realize that I had ordered a dish meant to be served cold. He looked at me perplexed saying, "No, no, that is a hot dish, I'm sorry.", and just walked away with zero resolution. It was SO odd! We were clearly waiting to leave by this point, and we sat there expecting him to bring us the check finally, but he circled around aimlessly. Finally, he approached us again 15 minutes later with a "Desert?" question. Our goal was to be in and out before the Flatirons Church service was released (that parking lot gets to be very busy). We thought 1 hour 40 minutes was plenty of time to get in and out for a table of 2. Three single times we were spoken to in that time frame, and were served cold food for being so patient with everything. Yikes! We still left a generous 30% tip because we still feel obligated to take care of others, but I really wished I could give this location ZERO stars... 1 star is just too much. Please do not give this restaurant your business. I repeat: PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS RESTAURANT YOUR BUSINESS!! You will NOT be impressed!!

One thing I also noticed, and should be a HUGE red flag for any considering this location, is the large number of negative 1* or 2* reviews on here, followed by a sparky, argumentative response from the OWNER themselves, responding as to why the customers' complaints are wrong and that the restaurant does everything perfectly 100% of the time, followed by a "God Bless You." If you cannot take feedback from patrons directly in order to improve your business, then you are living on a island that nobody should...

I am not even sure how to begin with how bad my family’s experience was with this extremely high priced Fazoli’s fast food restaurant. Actually I won’t even give them that much credit because I like the food at Fazoli’s. We generally order take out from local restaurants at least once a week because we have newborn baby. We also love supporting our local restaurants. This dinner was a little more special that most because it was our 3rd wedding anniversary night and had been excited to try the new Italian restaurant across the street. The food was pricey but even so we left a $10 tip on our to go order as we always try and show our appreciation for people in the food and beverage industry. Upon getting home I noticed that the Seafood Soup I had ordered was missing the “Garlic Crispini Bread” for the soup. I quickly called over as we had left maybe 4 minutes prior and spoke to the hostess. She told me that take out orders don’t come with any bread despite it being apart of the description for the meal. I decided to talk over and try and talk to the manager. When I walked in the hostess was laughing with a young man about the call she had just received. I asked the bartender if I could speak to the manager on duty and with a grin the 40 year old bartender pointed to the 20 something year old young man that was laughing with the young hostess about my call. As I brought up the issues with the young man he said that the hostesses don’t know the menu items and their ingredients like the rest of the staff. I declined an offer to wait for the rest of my meal to be prepared as my family was at home waiting and I was truly hoping to speak with someone that held more authority at the restaurant. We tried to move on with our anniversary dinner but quickly found out why it only took them 10-15 minutes for our large order. The food was underwhelming to say the least. The calamari was uneatable, my seafood soup which was missing the bread was filed with mussels that where missing the mussel but instead was stuffed with a salmon which I wouldn’t even compare to that of a honey smoked variety that you buy from your local grocery store. There was two scallops and one shrimp and the remainder was small claims that again mounted to empty shells with more salmon stuffed in as a substitute. My wife’s got the Cannelloni which had enough garlic to ward off any vampires within a ten mile radius. My daughter liked her kids cheese pizza, but it’s a kids cheese pizza. Any how, I spent over $120 on the dinner and gave them a $10 tip to bag it up. Needless to say, we will not be returning EVER AGAIN. We were very excited for an Italian restaurant so close to our home but will be happy to drive and get it from somewhere else next time. Hopefully this saves someone from making the same...

Lafayette Colorado! NEW found - delicious eatery!

We had the recent pleasure of finding this new restaurant in Lafayette Colorado. Located off S. Public Road by the Flatirons Community church and O’Reilly Auto parts.

This Italian Trattoria was a beautiful, distinctive and enjoyable experience.

Once inside, you walk to the hostess stand and a bar. We came in between service hour times so it took a short time for someone to come greet us. Once inside, you will see an extensive dining room full of many options for seating. The environment and ambiance was very relaxed, comfortable with an European elegance. Once seated, we were given a large menu to enjoy & to choose what to order. Our server - Carter was eager to help us understand and suggest menu items. We began our culinary experience with a delicious appetizer, Fiore di Zucca - cheese stuffed squash blossoms. The dish was very good, we had different expectations of lightly fried blossoms however, we were not disappointed. The appetizer was a wonderful beginning to our meal. We were also given fresh soft bread and dipping sauce that was positively delicious. The dipping oil was fantastic. I only wish I could decipher what was in it. Both myself and my dining partner enjoyed entree’s. One of us got the house special Bucatini Bolognese. The sauce was absolutely perfection. Rich, sweet from the freshness of the ingredients, the meat was so tender and clean, pasta was fantastic, just a delight all around. The other dish was the Ravioli Zucca - Oh My Goodness! This was outstanding! Seriously, please do not remove this from the menu - hands down my favorite!!!! The butternut squash ravioli filling was so warm, spiced and pure. For me, it tasted like the holidays! It was so well balanced, the ravoli pasta was so well rolled and cooked. It was little bites of heaven - each ravioli I ate and enjoyed. I only let my dining partner sample one, because, yes! I’m that greedy and they were that good! We were so full from our dinner and our drinks ( we each a glass of red wine, I got the Chianti and my dining parter ordered the Sangiovese - Both delicious!) that we were thinking of passing on the desserts. Well, Don’t do that ~ I mean seriously, the food was already so unbelievable that we decided we had trying something! We settled on sharing a chocolate mousse. The mousse was so decadent, rich and beautiful that we will need to go back and order again.

Please Lafayette, Boulder County and beyond - Visit and enjoy a wonderful dinner at this restaurant! You will be so...
