I never played hockey as a kid, but when we joined the YMCA and saw they had and ice center my son and I took ice skating lessons and then we heard about the learn to play hockey program how equipment was included for first time youth players we gave it a go. Chance is an amazing youth coach and my son quickly fell in love with hockey. Chance also runs a learn to play hockey program for adults so I too gave hockey a go for first time as at 42. Although Chance runs some adult skills programs the adult league doesn't have coaches, but I learned a lot from my son's coaching. I was never much of a sports player as a kid, but hockey is now my sport and 2 years later both of us are still playing all year round. I wished I had learned when I was a kid, but I think it is amazing that they have a great adult program too and although I would have been supportive of my son playing I don't think I would have been quite as understanding and supportive if I didn't have the opportunity to learn to play and love the...
Read moreThis place is amazing! So many wonderful classes and instructors to choose from. It's very convenient to find time for a workout or class because they offer such a wide variety of classes throughout the day and week. They also have a great childcare center to supervise and entertain the little ones while you attend your class or workout. They have a really beautiful clean pool that's outside in the Summer and covered with a dome during the Winter. They have an ice skating rink too. The YMCA is an inviting and accepting place where I've met and made friends with many nice people. But what really makes the Y an awesome organization are the many ways that they contribute to their community. I have become a healthy, active and confident 43 y/o single Mom of 5 kids thanks to the YMCA and their members. I am so grateful for the healthy impact that the Y has made...
Read moreI will never send my child to one of these summer camps again. Only ever received payment confirmation and harassing emails to demand medical information. Showed up on day 1 of camp and the staff asked where numerous needed items were (swim suits, sunscreen, LUNCH, etc). I never received any communication from camp informing me of any requirements. Then, when my child was INJURED at camp, he received no medical care, the counselors didn’t call or inform me. Counselors also never required any ID to pick up children. When these issues were brought up to camp leadership and a refund was requested, they denied it because I didn’t cancel more than two weeks in advance. How could this gross negligence be anticipated to cancel? This is a TERRIBLE program, run by people that don’t care. Don’t entrust your children with...
