Horrific initial interactions with the front desk lady, accompanied with assurance by the nurse. So, not starting well. No need to explain. They were both out of line. Then, had an AWESOME, podcast-worthy, conversation with the doctor. That's where it stops. Took my blood and got the text (zero human interaction) the next day to check results. Not a damn thing on my test results page in my profile. Sooooo, someone not doing their job. Seems like no matter what I do or where I go anymore, RARELY does it go the way it's supposed to. Extremely rare. I don't have the time to call and fight with the front desk lady bc I already experienced her default exclamations without listening to the person she's "communicating" with, nor do I have the time to jack with the patient portal that is inevitably not updated. Sooooo, yay. HOPE I'm good... And again, both wife and I are on death's door with the flu (most likely), and the front desk lady is all over it AGAIN! She shouldn't have that job. If she is telling the truth, which I suspect not, then our doctor just refuses to speak with us. Either way, looks like we're about to be forced to get a different "family" doctor. Does that term even hold meaning anymore? Family doctor? You're all about taking my $ but when the patient actually needs you, too bad! ...I'd also like to add I've called the number below twice and left a message to zero avail. It goes to their Marketing Director by the name of Makenzie Ellis. Sure appreciate your "care" concerning this horrible display of...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE!!! BE WARY!! Terrible, Terrible experience!!! INSURANCE FRAUD AND THE BILLING MANAGER IGNORED MY CALLS FOR WEEKS TO TRY TO CLEAR IT UP!!! MY WHOLE FAMILY LEFT GOING HERE BECAUSE OF THIS! I had just moved here from another state and I was told by insurance to get refills on my meds that I needed a PCP and I could use it as my yearly physical appointment. So I scheduled the appt. and went to Dr. Wassel, had received a shot too (which is normal when you go for a physical), and told her about the medication I take for refills. It was an easy in and out appt. I received the bill which should have been ZERO dollars even according to my insurance because of a physical. THEY CODED IT AS A DIAGNOSIS, when I told her the meds I take, there was no new diagnosis and they wouldn't change the code to a physical so they could get paid. When I called the first time about the issue, Evelyn said, if it was a physical I shouldn't have talked about the medication I am on and it changes things. I'M SORRY YOU ARE A DOCTOR, I HAVE TO TELL YOU THE MEDICATION I AM ON!!!! Such a dumb thing to say. AGAIN, THE BILLING MANAGER EVELYN WOULD NOT RETURN MY CALLS, AND DR. WASSEL NEVER CALLED BACK EITHER. I HAVE A CALL LOG OF 10 LEFT MESSAGES!!!...
Read moreIt’s a close location to our home in Lago Vista, so that’s nice. I appreciate Shannon Wassel’s professionalism and empathetic approach. She makes my visit a good experience. She’s one of the good ones.
When I entered the office, there were 2 ladies behind the glass. Kayla was to the right with a smile & the lady to the left was with a frown. The older lady didn’t greet, so I said I was there for blood work. I was 5 minutes late due to figuring out parking. There was none, so I parked on grass. When I apologized, she said, “have a seat.” No good morning. Just have a seat.
A nurse called me back to the room. She was kind. She weighed me and brought me into the room for blood pressure. Then Shannon Wassel came in and we talked about my health. She’s amazing. She left. Cheryl came in and took my blood sample. Cheryl was great!!! I told her to pick what arm she wanted.
I appreciate people for what they do for a living. There’s a great group in your Lago Vista location. I just wish that the older receptionist was kinder. It was a bit past 8 am, so maybe something happened to her that morning. I like to give kindness, so I didn’t push back. Thank you very much,...
